Totes. With every new release Valve brush up the graphics just enough to not look dated which works just fine. Moreover the true strength of Valve games lie in innovative and thoroughly fun game mechanics. If you want graphics, play something on the CryTec engine - this is pretty common knowledge. You don't play Valve for cutting edge vidcard-frying graphics, and that's a good thing too.

Just now i saw a post that said

Now i for one don't have a problem with the engine and think it looks great, a lot of my mates also think this way. So i was curious as to how accurate this statement was and decided to ask a larger audience. You.

How many valve fans think that they need to make a new engine?
Is the current version fine, with updates each release?
Or should they build a new engine?
Should valve make a new engine, or focus on releasing quality games

Additionally did you know that 80% of all random statistics are complete bullshit? Indeed, I agree with you. There's no need for a new engine. The Source engine is pretty good.

Source is damn fine, it looks good. avoids most of the uncanny valley problems and has kickass facial animations.
