No, this is not about the average Joe common day heroes, like a fireman or your local police officer; this is about the (anti-)heroes who purposefuly go unnoticed: the stealth game protagonists. Who is your favourite of these sneaky bastards?

To me, that would be Garrett, though that would be rather unfair to the others since I've never played a Metal Gear Solid, Hitman or an Assassin's Creed game beyond the first one. Altaïr had a nice dynamic going on with Malik, but I just got to know Garrett a little better.

Other. Voting for Mike Thorton from Alpha Protocol. That game is an underestimated gem with so many different ways to play so so many different endings depending on choices made (I think the official count is 64). Although for me, the only true way to play is by stealth.

I've played it though once and it wasn't bad, to me though it just had too much of a console feel which kinda got in the way. I doubt i'll be playing it though again any time soon, if ever.

OT: Voted Garrett because he is simply the best, though I can't speak for Ass Creed as i haven't played it yet (I do have it, just not played it). 47 is kinda cool but i've only played the first hitman game and it was pretty mixed in terms of good and bad gameplay elements, a good game but not the obvious gem that the thief series games are.

I thought I was alone.
I thoroughly enjoyed that game! Truly a hidden gem, bashed by pretty much anyone.

Seconded. It's the hat, really. If you have a hat you automatically become better at everything. That's why I'm so awesome. ^^

I was so disappointed in that game. I really tried to like it and it was one of those games that I really looked forward to getting, and I felt it was an awful let down.

LUCIEN LACHANCE! Because, well, he's awesome! I take a 30minute nap in a castle with gaurds and BAM! There he is! He's like a ninja with Harry Pooters invisibility Croak!

He's not a protagonist, or is there a mod where you play as him and get to do all his dirty bussiness? I would play that.

Garret takes the prize here.
He's the perfect anti-hero. A cynical, greedy thief that I adore.
If this Canadian Ubisoft developer fails with Thief 4 I will abandon all hope regarding the revival of stealth games.

Just depends on the game for each character. I liked Sam Fisher in Conviction, but not so much before. 47 also took time to grow on me, and the latest incarnation in Blood Money was my favorite.

but i do highly agree, i loved that game, and stealth is the true way to go in that game.
