I've always treated the Wii as the lowlife of the next-gen consoles. Nintendo's clingy franchises and lack of "Mature" rated (meaning "good") games are two reasons. However, I just experienced the glory of Wii Sports Resort. Far superior to Wii Sports, this game features dozens of sports games, including Swordplay, Archery, and even dogfights. I own a Wii but never play it, but I may change that simply for Wii Sports Resort. It successfully kept me entertained for 6 hours at the home of a family friend. So I will say it. The Wii is fun.

EDIT: I think they finally utilized the full potential of the motion sensors, which seemed to be a problem in the past.
EDIT 2: I don't mean "Mature" rating for gore. But I mean for FPS's and whatnot. Poor word choice.

Opinions?

It is fun. You need to find the right games for it. No different than any other console when it comes to the games you find fun!

I agree. The Wii is fun and I definately need to try Wii Sports Resort some time.

I still feel a need to bludgeon you for suggesting that a game needs gallons blood and or titties in it to be good.

My first: Mature doesn't necessarily mean good.I tend to prefer them usually because they're more, well, mature. However MANY MANY non M games are great.
I think the Wii can be fun but I don't prefer it

It is fun when there are a lot of people round your house.

However, I don't really like the wii at all.

The problem with a lot of games on the Wii is that in order to have fun you need to have at least one person playing with you. Take for example Mario Kart. Fun game when you have someone next to you to make fun of, but the fun is lost when playing on your own or online(sometimes)

I enjoy Super smash brothers brawl, No more heroes, and madworld the most. I would like to play wii sports resort, the conduit and the Resident evil rail shooters.

I'll never buy a Wii, but I do like a few of the simple, yet fun games they've been putting out on it. It does have its uses. When my Wii-owning friend has people over and breaks it out, its fun, and if I had a kid, I think the Wii would be perfect.

I love my Wii. It's got some great games on it, regardless of what the rabid hate-boys will tell you. No More Heroes is probably the single greatest game to come out of Japan in ten years, the requisite Zelda, Mario, and Metroid are all solid, fun titles. Mario Kart Wii wasn't bad either. Fire Emblem, it's got some great titles here.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go and write love letters to Suda51.

It's an ok console, but it seems that when I'm looking for games to play on that system I REALLY have to lower my standards.

The one game so far that I've really had fun with is Twilight Princess.

Please explain how an M rated game is good?

It makes me terribly sad that I'm currently the only person to have voted that she doesn't have one but does indeed want one. D:

Wario Ware is the second-most fun I have ever had playing video games with friends. Oh yes. (The first-most fun being Little Big Planet with one of my best college friends, Dooku).

Nothing wrong with that. Warioware is a blast.

I dunno, how can a console without halo gear solid ever be cool? I mean, excessive violence and generic fps/action games are what the world needs more of!

I don't have a wii, but I'd like one. Might get one when the new zelda game comes out.
