Games like Brawl, Metroid, Mario-Carts and Zelda are pretty fun. Shame the name Wii is such a retarded name though.

I actually always have found the Wii fun. But then, I never swallowed the bullshit that casual gamers were destroying gaming as a whole.

I wasn't too happy when it was changed from "Nintendo Revolution" either.
At least, I think that was it's original name.

I dunno, how can a console without halo gear solid ever be cool? I mean, excessive violence and generic fps/action games are what the world needs more of!

I don't have a wii, but I'd like one. Might get one when the new zelda game comes out.
I like you already. Seems gamers standards are pretty low

I don't have one, yet, but I still love my Gamecube so I'm bound to get more enjoyment out of it than I do with my 360. There are bound to be games that you like on the Wii as long as you don't immediately label anything vaguely cartoony and colourful as "gay" or "childish".

I don't have one but my friend does, it's fun when I'm playing it with her, but I think it would be boring alone. But, then she only has wii play and wii sports, so not much variety.

Well, the Wii is fun. It has perfectly equal potential to be fun as the other two next-gen consoles, it's weakness is, and probably always will be software. There are certainly fun games on the Wii, just not enough of them. Metroid Prime: Corruption for example. Many people, including myself, thought it was an excellent game. If you want something more "mature", then there's Resident Evil 4. I know it's a port, and a generally old game, but it truly is the best on the Wii, by far, the control scheme is practically perfect.

However, I can count off the number of games I think are truly "good" without using all my fingers, it's pathetic. Still, there's nothing wrong with the system, and this really isn't a revelation, in my opinion.

Also I heard Resort was not as good as the original, perhaps I had a bad source. I'll try it out.

Also(x2), and I truly mean no offense by this, your statement that a lack of M-rated games means a lack of good games is really quite ridiculous. That would be like saying that any movie not rated R is a bad movie. There are hundreds of examples against this philosophy, but the first that comes to mind is movies by Pixar.

I don't think it will ever be taken seriously with such a stupid name, that's one of the reasons so many people don't like it. The names what put me off as well. The only thing that changed my mind was the awesome multiplayer games (love love a drunken *Super Smash Bros.* Brawl)

there's no "sort of" option here.

I used to own a Wii but sold it out of necessity (needed tires) and I wasn't all the broken up over it since I rarely used the thing. There's just never was anything out for it that really appealed to me.

I may pick one up again in the near future now that Nintendo finally has some titles worth trying. I'm pretty sure the first thing I'll pick up is the upcoming mario platformer.

Yes the Wii is fun. If you didn't know this by now, well I guess something may be wrong with you. Every console has it's good and it's bad games. It's just a matter of weeding through the shit to get to the gold.

It is the same deal with any new toy or trick. When used properly it is a lot of fun, when it is not it is a painful experience. The deal is most of what makes it good for the new audience it pulls in most will go meh about. Meh as in not bad, not good. So there might be some fun there. I had to go over to my grandma's house as well as help her over the phone to get things to work when something as simple as the sensor bar being knocked off the TV or the cable won't come on since it was on the wrong channel. She probably never would of played the Wii if it wasn't for WiiSports and WiiFit. It is rather simple to introduce new people to new games. She may not be enjoying Zelda, but she is enjoying Tetris because of seeing that it can be fun.

It is rather different then the normal game systems. This means good and bad things because of it, but even so works well because of that.

Games rated mature=good [sic]
That in my opinion is a horrible generalization. There are many games which have done spectacularly that aren't rated M, and many that have done very badly, simply because of tacked on content that pushed them to the M rating [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/AvoidTheDreadedGRating].
It's overstated to the point of cliché but still true in all forms, Games validity as being "good" is subjective.

That it is. Fun, that is.

And yeah, I'm looking forward to buying Wii Sports Resort. As soon as my next paycheck rolls around and I stop eating ramen and leftovers as a result of Comic Con.

Holy hell people don't read edits. I used extremely poor word choice but can't go back and change it or half of the comments here about my opinion on games won't make sense.

The Wii does have some quality games. Hell, my favorite game is on the fucking Wii! Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition is the best edition, the best Resident Evil game in the franchise, the best game on the Wii, and the best game of all time! The iPod version better not suck or else someone is going to die!

EDIT 2: I don't mean "Mature" rating for gore. But I mean for FPS's and whatnot. Poor word choice.
Oh my god...
Your "edits" are far worse. So let me get this straight. A *ahem* "mature" rating is only suitable for first person shooters? Wow. That means that games like No More Heroes and Resident Evil 4 are Teen rated? What about games like Medal of Honor: Airborne and Battlefield: Bad Company? Are they considered to be Mature rated?
