Vampires were created in the netherworld. It takes netherworld energy to turn a human into a vampire, zombies are just corpses controlled by a virus.

I always thought that the only way a vampire makes sense is blood disorder plus allergic reaction to light, in which case they have no powers only weakness

That sounds more like a guy with leukemia than a vampire.

Zombies will never stop, as long as not the protagonist(s) are propagating the species.

I think the vamps would ignore the zombie outbreak until it's too late and then come out of their lairs to find that everyone else is a zombie. They will bust zombie heads for a while until they get weak from lack of blood and then be ripped apart by the remaining zombies. Then the crab people will rise up out of the oceans, kill all the zombies and establish Crabtopia. A utopian society, for crabs, by crabs.

For vampire add TRUE vampires (born ones not ex-humans) can fly.
For zombie add that it's relentless and will NEVER back down. (Unlike a vampire who will try to save it's self)

The protagonists are the ones fighting the outbreak, and the vampires are fighting the outbreak in this scenario, therefore vampires= protagonists= defeated zombies.

hmmm...I'd go Vampires, as they can generate their own undead legions depending on which lore you look at, at are generally smarter, faster, and all around more badass than Zombies. Crabs are indeed the Dark Horse, as I know not if you speak of the giant, man-eating, laser spewing, robot crabs of myth or your standard, garden-variety crustacean.

If they were somehow working together I think a carpet of several hundred thousand crabs sweeping up out of the ocean and devouring all in their path is pretty damn intimidating.

If your plentiful food source was being turned into useless corpses at an amazingly fast rate you'd want to stamp it out.
