Basic vampires are rather complex.
but they dont have magical powers or feed of rats or jump insane heights and have insane speed
Yes they do (okay, maybe not magic)! Take all that away and vampires are just weird, pale people who enjoy blood aperitifs.

Almost every time I've seen a portrayal of a vampire, that vampire could jump insanely high, run insanely fast. That same vampire was also usually unnaturally strong, and was blisteringly intelligent.

Plus, I can't get the image of sparkling vampires out of my head. Hard to take them seriously.
Would thinking of sparkling zombies help to at least think of them with the same (low) level of dignity?
Mmm.. No, not really. Because I don't take zombies seriously either. I think they're hilariously awesome.

Vampires are meant to be all spooky and powerful and such.. Which makes me giggle anyway. Then the thought of sparkly ones just tops it off nicely.

Go zombies.

I've already shot that to shit using the magic of science so can we try to keep up to date so I can have time to look at other threads before I have to argue 3 more points that i've already talked about? I'm too drunk to keep up (yeah saturdays)

God and satan have nothing to do with the netherworld. The nether world is a parallel world which can transfere energy to and from this one.

And I'm not saying they jump hundreds of feet into the air, and you can't judge vampires by movies as the actors were severly limited in them.
you can't just say oh they have netherworld powers so they can do magic but it's not magic so it's real. there's no proof that the netherworld exists, even in vampire fiction it's used and unused at the authors choice.
as for the jumping you say they have it, then they dont because i'm right, if it's in then fine but they can't ever use it and if its out then they cant escape by jumping or running so they can and will get swarmed.
It's not magic. It's energy from the nether world. There are no spells or potions, the energy goes into manipulation. Increasing the vampire's strength, extending shadows, coushioning a fall.

I never retracted the jumping high thing. I said they can't jump a hunded meters in the air. Just jump to heights it would be impossible for a human to get to.

You can't use science against vampires and ignore it when you talk about zombies, which is why you use science for everything (makeing this argement more pointless) or don't use it for anythig (like me).

Hey! Don't apply reality to vampires and zombies. If you insist on doing that, then zombies would not require their brains to be destroyed in order to die, zombies would not have a sudden urge to feed on everybody's brains, and there wouldn't be a huge zombie outbreak, either. Of course, vampires wouldn't exist either, since the human body cannot metabolize blood alone to survive.

Let's keep any logic out of this so we can continue having fun.

That said, in an illogical world where vampires and zombies exist, the vampires would win for aforementioned reasons.

first netherworld is off as it cant exist, as for the science and ignoring it with zombies, I'm not. a zombie is caused by a diease that causes the body to in essence die but keeps using the brain to spread the virus, it shuts down any other organs and uses the now corpse to spread itself, i never said it makes them break the laws of physics (like vampires do) with impossible strength and speed and they ability to jump high but not feel the effects of gravity. it's unlikely but possible.

But the zombies that you have mentioned (the ones that apparently can't die without their brains being destroyed and have an urge to feed on the living) are physically impossible. For a zombie to be able to scientifically locomote, it must have a sort of circulatory system to bring oxygen and nutrients to its muscles. Now, if you shot a zombie's chest out, that circulatory system would be obliterated, making it impossible for the zombie to get energy to its muscles and other systems. This would make it die, and you wouldn't have to destroy its brain for that to happen.

No more logic- it gives me a headache....

We're talking about vampires fighting a zombie outbreak. I hardly think that whether or not something exists matters right now.

Lol, sparkely corpses.
In retrospect, the idea of rotting re-animated flesh surrounded by pretty sparkles is quite humorous.

It's not possible. Shuting down of the organs will cause permanent death in no more than a week. A virus may control the brain but when the organs turn off you can't do anything.

And I don't like your 'the netherwold doesn't exist because I say so' thing. You can't pick and choose what parts of vampires to argue with. Vampires use netherworld energy and you can't ignore that.

If we're using everything ever written for vampires v.s everything written for zombies it becomes irrelevant as zombies have had all the pwers vampires have had, keeping it logical also keeps it grounded

I don't recall flying zombies. Or zombies strong enough to punch through a wall. Or zombies that can break the sound barrier. Or zombies with netherworld powers. Or intelligent zombies.

I'm not saying it's impossible becasue i say so im saying its impossible because it makes no sense, as for a circultiory system, you're saying a zombie is still alive but it's not, it has become a tool, viruses don't need oxegen that they cant get from the absesses of the brain. the major downfall of a zombie is that they still decompose and are useless after 3-5 years, i'm leaving the science as it is, and applying it to both sides

I never said it was good writing but it has been used, that's why i want to keep it logical so we don't have to go into any stupid thing that was written once by a hack who ignores the accepted mythology of the creature in question
