I say FF7 dont get me wrong I LOVE the ff series but I just hate what ff7 did to it...

And what exactly did FF7 do to the series?

Well people often have played it first and use it as the standard (though personaly i think the story was crap compared to say ff4 or 6) and people always think of it as a god-like marvel, it isnt nearly as great as said, I could go on, but well its my opinion not the general publics

Final Fantasy VII.

What's wrong with it? A few things come to mind:

- Overhyped to hell.
- Monotonous combat system.
- Mediocre story.
- Bland characters.
- Really creepy fanbase (well, for the most part, anyway).

FF7 for me.
It's actually the Final Fantasy game I got the farthest in, but I seriously don't see whats so good about it.
The story is nothing special, and a majority of the characters are annoying. Cid, Red and Barret are the only good playable characters.
I didn't like Half-Life 2 either, but I can appreciate what it brought to the genre. FF7 ruined FF in my opinion, as it drove the series away from the Black Mages and pointy hats I loved. FF6 is also to blame for this, but FF6 managed to be fucking awesome anyway.

I said sonic 3 as it was my least favorite out of the group. Hell I really only lied sonic 2 and S&K to begin with. Half Life 2 is a close second, and it's about as overrated as FF7. People can harp o FF7 all they want, but no one can deny that HL2 has just as annoying of a fanbase, is as over rated, and pretty much suffers from the same damn problems.

Let's see... I'll work down the list

Super Mario 3: Fairly good, no complaints, just a bit tedious with the repetitive story. At least the areas are always different.

Sonic 3: This whole game series sucks. It's always about speed, whereas the areas are built around timing your jumps perfectly to NOT drop off a ledge. (area 4+)

LoZ- aLttP: Nothing wrong with this. It featured two interconnected worlds, with the same nice touch on the bosses.

FF 7: Never played personally, but from what I hear, it's quite overrated. At least the characters were well-built and I have seen enough to know it's better than Sonic 3.

HL2: Never played, but I've seen several YouTube video's, enough to like it.

I picked FF7. Honestly, I just don't see what's so great about it lol.

On the back of the box IGN says its the best game of all time. That is, that was 1997. I liked the game, but the problem is the fan base. I'd take a serious bet that 75%+ of the fanbase never played the original all the way through. Its that sequel and spin-off crap that's really ruining it. It's not that great of a game to begin with. Its good, and the story was fairly well written, but it wasn't ever anything to zOMG home about (Prepared to get punched for using zOMG).

I couldn't say the worst game but the least for fun for me out of all those were FF7 and HL2. I will just flip a coin to pick.

I cant remember what it was called but you played as plastic toy soldiers.
The only good thing about the game was melting the enemy with a flame thrower.
(I dont know how the actual flame thrower didnt melt...)

FF7 for me. I agree that it's pretty overrated.
At the time though, it made us all shit our pants because it was a 3D RPG.

I surrender. The only ones of those games I've played on there are Mario and Sonic. And since I always associate Sonic 3 with Sonic 3 & Knuckles...

Also, I notice you deliberately chose games that are well-made and widely liked. I know you were trying to mix it up, but...isn't it kinda pointless to take five games and figure which was "worst?"

link to the past, FFVII and HL2 are all over rated...incredibly so but FFVII is the worst culperate to the point it makes me sick. i wouldnt mind the game im sure but the fans just ruin it.
