Sweden is cool they are the home of truly awesome metal bands!

Plus I hear that the Swedish military is properly funded so they have a military with better equipment than the USA. Shame you don't see much Swedish equipment around, the Gripen and stealth boats.
Stealth boats are like ninja elephants in the middle of football fields. They try so hard, but they're still very easy to spot.

I think the landscapes there are quite beautiful, and the language really is a delight to my eyes. It seems like a pretty cool place.
Hooo yeah... It's probably easier to fund a military when you have such high taxes and expensive public transit/things the public use (4 hours sleep keeps me from remembering words) and also when your entire country's population can fit inside the greater Chicago area.

Soooo much good metal from Sweden: Opeth,Meshuggah,At The Gates,Entombed,Dissection,Necrophobic,Nasum,Edge of Sanity,Eucharist,Grave,In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, etc etc.
Secomnd this, apart from all the wonderful things I'm hearing from this thread the fact that some of the most awesome metal bands in the world come from Sweden makes me wanna visit that place someday so badly.

1)I think of a country who has a government that watches out for its citizens but is a dick about piracy laws. Their politics are more interesting, considering there's a pirate party and they actually have a noticeable left wing there. Unlike the US, where it's right and far right.
2)Tall beautiful blonde women, with cool accents. Tall/Blonde isn't my type though.
3)Soccer.
4)Melodic death metal/folk metal/black metal.

You guys are pretty cool from my current perceptions.

Well I got inspired by "Thoughts on Britain" and was wondering what people know & think about the country Sweden and it's people.
I have never met every single person from Sweden. It's hard to judge this question. I'd imagine I'd like a good amount of them, but some I would not. Others I would feel indifferent to. This question on the other hand, I do not like for it is stupid and holds no discussion or true opinions.
Well apparently you're so smart that you missed the part when I asked if you like sweden (The country aswell aka the nature, landscape, weather and more) and also asked what they know about the country. Or maybe Im just so dumb that Im the only one that sees that?
I may have missed that part, but it quite clearly says:
'Do you like people from sweden?'
So maybe you want to edit that part. As for the country? Again, like any country, there's bits I like and bits I don't like. Ditto with the politics, ditto with the art, ditto with the culture. How can we give exact answers. As you can see, I dislike polls very very very much. You could have made a cool thread on Sweden but missed it with a poll choice.
Thanks for your opinion, and how do you think I should write it then?

Sweden is the best country ever.
That is all.

Or maybe not:

I'm just pissed that the comedic swedish stereotype always seems to be a mix up of German and Swiss culture. And german accents, ALWAYS GERMAN ACCENTS
To be fair, I've talked to quite a few Swedes in my life and their accent did seem a lot like the one you get here in Germany.

I am from Sweden.

I find it quite awesome.

Shame we don't have that many good bands though.

Feels a bit unecessary since we've never been in a real war :p
Well since the last time we attacked Russia

I've always wanted to visit Sweden, and Finland too. The country looks stunning and everything about the Scandanavian culture is intriguing to me. Oh and you guys have some of the most righteous metal bands :).

Swedish people are real cool people- from what Ive experience theyre a little withdrawn, but generally theyve been cool out.

And Swedish is a feckin hard language... aw man
Hard? I beg to differ. It's not a hard language, even the Swedes can learn it! (sorry, someone had to do it)

Swedes are alright, most of my cousins are Swedish and I love them very much. And I live right on the friggin' border as well and speak Swedish and I visit Kiruna every now and then since my aunt lives there.

The girls are not that pretty though. :| (My cousins rule though cos they're Finnish/Swedish hybrids XD)

It's my home country. Our winter lasts from November to April, and our movies generally suck. Other than that, there ain't much to complain about, could be a lot worse.

edit: I also get the picture that Swedes (and Scandinavians in general) are much better at English than the rest of Europe. Courtesy of not dubbing movies and/or games.
Well, our movies suck in general, but we do have masterpieces aswell.
Ever heard of Ingemar Bergman or Roy Andersson? You should check them out.

Is it finland or Norway what has a part of it that is Swedish speaking?!

Edit : im and idiot... norweigiens (or however its spelt) speak swedish... and the fins don't, they speak Hungarian, so the Swedish speaking area im talking about is in northern Finland...

On a side note I might be going to Tromso for Easter

Doesn't Sweden have like, one of the largest suicide rates in the world or something?
