The number of people that have said ties has restored by faith in the male gender. Bowties are for science teachers.

And as with porn you are certein to have some preferances, and my question is as simple as this. Tie, or bowtie? wich is better? personally I just want to point out that bowties are cool. enjoy the discussion, and merry soon-to-be-Christmas.
I know that bow-ties can be cool, but it is all too often that they are these horrendous "pre-tied" jobs, that no-one has to put any effort in with. I've worn a few of those in my time and I think that they should all be burned.

I love a good tie - you've got to do it right, with a Windsor knot, to get the most out of the tie itself, while complimenting it with a nice shirt selection - loud ties and loud shirts can go together, but try not to make them clash too much, otherwise friends, family and colleagues can become blinded.

Some people practice good knots, which are large, but not overstated. Others fail with this so badly. Be it crooked knots, a tie that only rises to about halfway between the larynx and the nipples is a massive faux pas. The thing that I really have a problem with are Premiership footballers, when they were ties, usually for court appearances in either sexual misadventures, or speeding hearings.

If I were earning in the region of £200,000 per year (as some of these imbeciles are earning in a week), I'd at least have the sense to get a well tailored suit and if that weren't enough, I'd hire someone to dress me. Leaving the top button undone and then tying a knot that is almost the size of one's own head is just plain silly.

So, in conclusion, if you're going to get dressed with fashionable neckwear, consider a tie. Make sure it is appropriate and accessorised (match the tie-pin or slide to your cufflinks, for example)

When I dress up I like a bow tie. A narcissistic part of me likes to show off that I can tie one, and the other part just thinks it looks super suave :)

Regardless of what you wear, at the end of the day, when it comes off and the top button gets undone, you can only feel awesome about yourself.

In general, tie. When it's an evening deal (i.e. black suit) bowties are fine. Other times they just look silly.

The Ascot?

Failing that, the Third Doctor wore a bow tie from time to time, and he was a pimp.

Ties all the way. I'm proud to say I own a rather sharp Pinstripe suit, and about 7 ties (so far), but no bloody bowties. Ever.

Bow tie if you're a game show host from the 90's. Tie if you're a grown up modern man.

Chevy Bowtie, hands down.

Oh... you meant the clothing, silly me. I'm for a good double windsor tie.

I'd go for Ties. Easier to tie, and cooler too. Especially my red 8-bit one.

Since it's Christmas time I wear my Christmas Tie to work. I don't care what people say. It's festive.

Tie. Also, if it's not tied in a windsor [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windsor_knot], you are no true man.
