while I would say that we've done fine so far without a "god", at least making one would sort out all these stupid cultists/zealots fighting over whose god is right.

We have solar systems and galaxies. Enough that we will never explore them fully in either of our life times. Besides even if he willed them into existence in an instant, is that all you want your god to do. As for not fixing everything, it would be irresponsible. We would become dependent on God to fix everything and wouldn't be able to do anything ourselves and advance as a species. Like in the original post, it would up to our pick, and i would pick someone i think to be very level headed who wouldn't interfere unless absolutely needed into peoples lives, i wouldn't pick a control freak who needs to enslave everyone.
The best way to help us is to have us learn on our own and yet equip us with the means to rest assured that we aren't all doomed on our own.
And yeah, the universe is a beautiful place and is an expression of the ideas and creativity of our God, and giving us a sight to appreciate... that goes a lot more than just healing someone from the dead.

It's quite possible that slavery while not ideal for us, might be the best way for us to be fixed in a quicker timeframe... not slavery like doing menial work, but definitely being aligned and reigned in... shown our place...gmaverick019 said:

We aren't talking about the power to just stop a war here or there, we're talking about the power to create everything in YOUR image of perfection, and I bet you everyone's image of perfection is different. You bet your ass yeah, especially if I could do it. My point, I have flaws, but morals, something that is lacked now in days. If I choose the nicest man on planet, they'll tear up at everything, if I choose the worst man on the planet, no one would live. I think I would be a decent choice, again, I have flaws, but Morals. For example, no war, if a giant disease arose and started to spread, I would lock it to one place alone. Mainly, Dawinism and so the Human Race can survive.

it is quite unlikely that one can end all human suffering by just wiping out diseases and preventing/fixing all disasters, making this scenario logically inconsistent.
If all human suffering would be really ended, I wouldn't create a god - it takes the challenge, the fun, and the passion out of living. There's no joy without suffering.
