If I'm going to some kind of work-related meeting (or an event-type social thing - weddings/funerals) then I take an umbrella. Helps keep that presentable appearance.

If I'm just going shopping or visiting friends then I might throw on a hoodie.

If I'm going running and it's above 20°C I aim for as little clothing as possible - I'd rather have wet skin than have the added weight of wet clothes. If it's below 15°C then I throw on a thin waterproof layer. That in-between zone depends on the wind

Just a jacket, nothing else. Keep it cool and just walk through it like it ain't no thing! Plus where I'm going if I'm walking isn't that far away.

It depends on what I'm doing. If I'm out shopping/going to the store/whatever, and thus unlikely to be in the rain for any longer than it takes to get from the car to the store and back, I just dress normally. If, like today, I am going to be outside for an extended length, I wear a raincoat. Can't really move wheelbarrows with an umbrella in your hands.

A Matrix-esque coat AND an umbrella. You can't look TOO cool.
I used to have an umbrella with a plastic handle shaped like the handle of a katana. It went in a little over-the-shoulder scabbard. Super cool, and I imagine it would have gone well with that coat.

On the downside I did get questioned about it by the police on the London Underground, and eventually some **** robbed it from a pub, but I suppose that's what happens when you have cool stuff.

OT: In England, the weather has been so crazy lately that I'm usually just wearing normal clothes, and probably sunglasses. Generally when there's bright sunshine I'll be wearing a heavy raincoat. Fucking weather.

Depends on how heavy it's raining. Most of the time I'll just wear normal clothes and deal with it. If it's heavy I'll toss on a coat or take and umbrella out, or I'll just stay inside.

I worked 5 years as a bag boy at a local grocery store, in that time I learned that a hoodie will cover me for rain, snow, hail, or cold. On the flip side I hate days that are above 75/24 degrees.

I usually only change up to a light hoodie, it usually doesn't rain much where I live anyway.

Depends on the context. Normally, I just wear whatever, I don't mind a little wet. If its really pouring, I'll toss on a simple rain jacket.

However, I often find myself carrying items that "care" a fair bit more than I do about rain. So a poncho and/or umbrella I can protect them with are usually not far from hand.

I just put on a jacket and leave it at that. I'm not particularly caring if my pants or shoes get wet, but I'm not fond of my head getting wet.

I live in Wales. If particularly heavy rain is forecast I may consider bringing a coat or umbrella, but since it rains so much so often, I usually just wear a rather good water resistant soft-shell jacket,

How much was it raining? A few spots isn't going to fuss anyone... Was it properly throwing it down?

I don't mind if I'm already on the wsay home (I can get dry there) but if I'm going somewhere, I'll take cover if it rains but I don't take a coat or umbrella with me unless it's raining before I head out.

Funny you should mention the Pacific Northwest... I'm one of those who has lived here my whole life and doesn't wear rain protection unless it's freezing rain. Also, umbrellas are generally worthless here, they just turn inside out in a rain that'll actually get you wet (generally they go more sideways than down).

Depends. Am I going anywhere? If not I'll change into a bikini top and short shorts and go for a walk around my neighbourhood. If I am, just regular clothes. We occasionally have people walking around with umbrellas but they're usually the people walking around with umbrellas all year round anyway......If it actually winds up cold I stick to jeans and a jacket but it's a rarity for me
us so cal kids are crazy. Mind these are also from about 10 years ago when I was in high school. This first one was an especially rainy day and it's me and my friend mike

and this was two of my friends who were dating

Though I do see a lot of girls flip out when it starts raining unexpectedly out here and I giggle profusely

I'd like to point everyone in the direction of this song.....As I live in Southern California

I wear my usual hoodie. That's enough to cover my head, and it's just as good protection for my legs as an umbrella or a raincoat (at least the kind we have here).

A trenchcoat I picked up at a thrift shop because I really love the Matrix movies. Whenever I see any weather in which a trenchcoat might be appropriate to wear, be it rain or snow or sub-70 degree weather, I'm all over that.

I have to wear something with a hood, however if it's too awkward to carry I'll probably use a bag or something not intended to be worn on the head and put it over my head, I have to save as much of my hair as possible.
