Lived my whole life in western Oregon, so very familiar to the rainy Pacific Northwest. When it rains, I will typically put on a light leather jacket. If it is raining particularly hard, I will put on a brimmed hat to keep my head from getting wet. I don't even own an umbrella, just never had a need for one.

Even during the days when I would walk two miles to college campus each day I wouldn't bother with an umbrella. Walking around campus, I could always pick out the out-of-staters, since they would bust out an umbrella with even the slightest hint of rain ;)

Sometimes the rain sneaks up on me, so it could be a sunny day in the morning and then suddenly start raining when I'm in school, so in this situation I won't have my raincoat but if I'm going out, the schools have umbrellas for using in case of rain.

If it's raining when I'm about to leave my house then I will put on my rain coat or will bring it with me if I know it's going to rain.

Heh, try the rains in the UK.
Meh, from what I can tell, though there are places in the UK that get a ton of precipitation, its fairly similar to what we get up here in Washington State (Seems to be about 56 inches on average)though Eastern Washington throws off the state average, as its a giant desert wasteland due to the Cascade Mountain Range that runs through the state.
I believe he was referring to the flooding on Saturday.

I live in Essex, and it was pretty heavy. I was mostly okay, but the water was still about six inches deep outside my house and the doormat has drifted off, never to be seen again.

Depends less on the intensity of the rain and rather on how far I have to go and what else I have to take. Say, if I only has to go to the university building, which is practically in front of my flat,I can just jog over even in a rainstorm without wearing anything protective, but when I have to go shopping to the other side of town to get better prices and would return with packed bags (aka. no hands to hold an umbrella with) I am pretty much forced to wear a raincoat if I don't want to get drenched even in a light rain. It's all about circumstances.

I just grab an umbrella. If the rains are going to be a bit intense, then I'll grab a jacket as well. Other than that, I don't really have any sort of rainy day attire

Normal clothes, but I always use a hooded shirt if I can.
When my ass long hair gets wet it also gets really fucking curly and flat on the head. Looks so ugly.

That might be because most people don't check to see if there's a probability of rain before they leave the house, so they end up caught in naught but what they're already wearing. Which is how I usually go out, though, if it's already raining when I leave, I grab my raincoat and the waterproof hat I have, to keep my body and head warm and dry.

I got it from Winnie the Pooh, so consider yourself special for getting the reference.

I never bother. Not only do I enjoy the rain unless its extremely heavy, it normally lasts about two minutes, then it becomes sunny again. We can go from rain, to sun, to hail in a matter of minutes.
Melbourne weather is the best weather.

Here in Florida, the main rainy season is the Summer, which means it's ridiculously hot outside unless it's actively raining, so you can't wear anything too heavy. I have a basic windbreaker I use for days when it's too hot to wear anything else, and not raining so hard that it's dangerous to go outside no matter what you're wearing[footnote]You may think this is hyperbole, but two or three days ago we had a storm hit with wind gusts up to 60 MPH. A Tropical Storm starts at 39 MPH, a Hurricane at 74, and this was just a regular thunder storm, not a tropical system of any sort.[/footnote]. During the winter (which is also usually pretty wet, though not as wet as the Summer is) it's usually just whatever jacket is appropriate for the temperature outside. I'm not a big fan of umbrellas.

Most of the time, it catches me off guard. You know the guy that is running to his vehicle in shorts and a t-shirt, that's me. Got no interest in the weather what so ever. Eventually I have nobody to blame but myself. Not to worried about getting wet, considering how much of my body is water, lol.

Well as I tend to cycle everywhere I've had to invest in some wet weather gear. And because I live in Canada and will only stop riding when it starts staying below 0C it has to be warm wet-weather gear.

If I'm not on my bike its just a jacket and umbrella.

Because its a quote from one of the winnie the pooh cartoons/books. Just before Pooh starts singing

I'm just a little black rain cloud, hovering under the honey tree. Oh I'm just a little black rain cloud, pay no attention to little me

I just recalled that from memory. If only this incredible talent I have would work with useful information.....

That's actually incorrect. Its after he starts singing, and the bees aren't buying his "clever ruse"

I have said it before and I will probably have to say it again.
I do *not* command an army of flying monkeys.
No one has ever dropped a house on my sister.
And I do NOT melt in the rain!
