Ico and SotC. Shadow was a wonderful piece of game to play and i have nothing but high hopes for Ico. Can't honestly say i'll be purchasing hem today, but they're certainly more interesting than Fifa 12.
Interestingly, the votes so far are 49 to 1 in favour of SotC and Ico. Just saying...

I don't think either one is on PC. So I couldn't play them if I wanted to.
FIFA 12 is available on PC. I know you can get it through Origin. Not sure if they're selling it retail, though I imagine they are.

And yes, I desperately want FIFA. Maybe after the weekend.

I'm sorry but all of my excitement is being divided upon Saint's Row the Third, Skyrim and, the 3DS release of Marvel Superhero Squad. Fifa is one of those games I've never been into to begin with. Don't care about soccer in the least. Ico and Shadow of the Colossus look awesome but they've been available for years on their original console...a console which you can still buy new. Ico and Shadow of the Colossus are also still easy to find on the original console so not too excited about the re-release.

ICO and SotC, if you want to play football just go outside and play football ._.
You realize that playing a football/soccer videogame is much different from actually playing football/soccer, right?
Yes, real football is a lot more fun to play.

so anytime someone plays a shooter game they should just go outside and shoot someone instead?

wonderful logic is wonderful.

Saw this coming guess I should have dressed it in my first post, first off you can't draw that parallel between football and going to war and say it´s the same thing, clearly it´s not T.T"
second off as with most sports game they are A LOT more fun and not too expensive to just play the physical version of it(exception would be racing games and other equipment heavy sports) which was the point I was trying to make...

I wasn't drawing a parallel between football and fighting in a war, rather between playing a football game and playing football versus playing CoD and fighting a war.

Furthermore, not every time I want to play football, I can get 21 friends, a pitch, a referee and two linesmen on short notice. At other times I just want to hang back with a controller.

I don't /mean/ to poke fun, or even seem like I'm teasing. But would you say your friends are kind of "bros?" Skip to 6:27 for the context of the question;

I ask because the highly acclaimed ICO and Shadow of the Colossus games have been long held as gaming gems, even though- like Monkey Island in the video, they mostly have niche appeal. The only people I've found ready to leap to teasing others about game preferences are Bros.

I've never been a sports gamer, and charging 60 dollars for a roster update really never seemed right to me. So I'm naturally leaning on the ICO And Shadow rereleases. Seriously, I own the games for the PS2, and I want them on the ps3 for insured future playability (damn backwards compatibility).

I believe his point is that football is something one would normally do in real life that is beneficial to their health (generally). Shooting people, however, is not. At least, not in the 'go to prison for life' aspect.
while that is a fair enough opinion, i just hate when people immediately look down on a video game because it is an actual sport in the real world outside of video games. That doesn't deter the video game from being fun.

I hate baseball in real life, i think it is extremely boring and refuse to watch it on TV, but that doesn't stop me from loving mario baseball to bits.
Cuz WATCHING sports is always boring as hell, but PLAYING is where the fun's at. But yeah just cuz it's irl doesn't mean ya can't enjoy the game.

Both.

I loved the ICO games on my PS2 and I've been into FIFA since I loved FIFA 98 on my PS1.

OT though, Probably ICO/SotC.
I always found sports games based around reality to be quite 'meh'...

So, as I was saying, it's not available to me in any form...

(Joking aside, I still wouldn't. I'm not a sports game fan.)

I'm already picturing some battlefield filled with campers... grenades flying everywhere... profane language from one end to the other.

Yeah you're totally wrong.

Oh wait, opinions are subjective and can't be wrong?

But that means that my original opinion on your opinion being wrong can't be wrong.

Oh whatever I don't like Fifa or those old PS titles. Blah.

I dislike sports games... When I want to play sports, I go outside and play. So my answer is the remake bundle XD

Yeah, just go on wikipedia and read the current names of the players in the teams. You just saved $60.

(That is pretty much all that changes each year apart from some minor tweaks and graphic improvements, right?)

Used to drive me nuts when I worked in a store and saw great games go unsold while we saw Championship Manager's new release fly out the door by the dozens.

It's a spreadsheet! You're PLAYING Excel 2000. They've just updated the player names file and sold it to you again, stop doing it!

Ico and SotC aren't for everyone, believe me. They're great, but not so much 'wide appeal' games, and may well have dated a bit. I'd still go for em over most sports sequels however.

I'm not surprised at all that Ico and SotC have almost 90% (if not more) of the vote to Fifa 12. That's the sad reality of sports games. I bought one sports game (I believe it was NCAA Football 06) and played it non stop. Next thing I know, NCAA Football 07 is coming out and it has tons of more features, updated game play etc. I thought "Oh AWESOME! I want that!" and ran out to buy it. A few weeks later I go back to Gamestop, and NCAA Football 07 is on sale used for 14.99. A month later, under 10 bucks.

Basically, if I really want a sports game, I'll wait a month and get it for a fraction of the price used.

Couldn't agree more. The new versions of sports games rarely merit their 60 Euro price tag at launch. I've been lagging behind one version of Fifa/PES for a while now and it has saved me a lot of money.

Aren't Fifa games all basically the same game with no originality, the only difference being the number has gone up by one.
Same game within every console generation. With a new generation they update the graphics then release the same game until the generation is done. Oh, but of course we need to buy this FIFA. They have updated the player lists, and I know by heart the player lists of all South American teams, thus it is disturbing when I play FIFA 11 and there's one guy on the team who isn't there anymore.
Seriously though. Tell your Friends they can pick up FIFA 11 in the bargain bin because it's the same game.

I think most of you misunderstood me. These are not my "friends", they are my acquaintances. Also, I had no interest in FIFA, and I've now bough ICO and Shadow of the Colossus. My main question was which one YOU are interested in, as these acquaintances of mine say that no-one is interested in the games I'm interested in. I'm just asking this to prove a point.

So far it's 154-8 for ICO and Shadow of the Colossus. Good to know I have a gamer's taste.
