Well if they want to live they'll have to be, wont they?sheic99 said:You're assuming that everyone who commits murder are serial killers.Easton Dark said:Is that even a punishment for murderers? I would actually only be interested if children were fighting. I mean adults are generally moral and would only enter for money for their family or to quell anger or something.Baneat said:UFC+Boxing?ChromeAlchemist said:They probably still wouldn't. Even if two people consented, I don't think anyone would like a bloodsport in this day and age. It'd be pretty fucked up. Too brutal a sport, and too violent to allow anyone to watch it.
Only difference is the degree of brutality, principly identical.
If two consenting then whatever, but that shit should be locked *tight* from minors.
There's a difference between movies and video games and real life. I'm pretty sure that people would react very differently if they were to watch live Gladiator Combat to the death as opposed to say play Call of Duty or God of War for a couple hours. Humans like competition, not necessarily violence and blood. I'm positive you would certainly get a huge outcry against televised deathmatches. As for subjecting the scum of the earth to fight it out to the death, well maybe we should just give you a rifle and you can shoot any "scumbag" that comes through our legal system (it would sure be quicker).believer258 said:You severely misunderstand the cruelty and bloodlust of the human race. Many of us absolutely love to see people get killed. Don't think so? Watch pretty much any blockbuster movie ever. They are almost always about action, and lots of people die. One of our most celebrated modern heroes, Indiana Jones, kills without consequence and in the most casual way possible. Also, let's not forget video games and the massive amount of violence and gore put into them. And then there's the whole "Thousand Ways To Die" thing.ChromeAlchemist said:Nowhere in this modern world would anyone allow it. As for if people would want it? Weeeeeeell.....

My point is that many humans will not admit it but we like violence and blood, provided it isn't aimed toward us. If this did start happening and was eventually accepted as something that the scum of the earth are forced into, not many people would speak out against it.

Well I disagree. While many people watch movies and other media focused around killing, very few people will watch real-life snuff videos of people being beheaded and such. People aren't as desensitised to actual violence and loss of life as they think they are.believer258 said:You severely misunderstand the cruelty and bloodlust of the human race.
