For the most part I do. Unless I think my post may be controversial or breaking the rules even in the slightest, I usually hit "Post".

Sometimes I will write a post and then find myself disagreeing with it or feeling that my contribution to the thread is very little so I hit topic index and leave.

I sometimes write a reply and then don't hit post. It's usually because of one or two reasons;
1) "Actually, it might not be such a great idea to say this..."
2) "Screw it, I can't be assed. This isn't worth the effort."

Usually, option 2 is an unfinished post, but sometimes it is finished and I would say it but I don't because I don't want to deal with the backlash I'd surely receive rather than because I'd offend anyone. Option 1 occurs when I realise I'd be offensive when that isn't what I want to do.

Sort of, I might type out a reply but then decide it isn't really contributing or a subject I care about or that I should leave the person alone.

I don't usually avoid it, but if I do avoid the Post button, it's for the better

All the time. But you know what saved me from being banned? Not hitting that shiny Post button. Like, I'll be typing something like 'You effing dolt, what the hell kinda reply is that?!' but then I stop myself. God it's hard.

I sometimes brisk over what I write, and if It's to rude, and or too much flame bait OR will get me in shit, I'll either flip a coin or pass.
