Poll: VGA GOTY

Last night on the video game awards Jake Ghyllenhal presented Uncharted 2:Among Theieves with Game of the year 2009. It beat Assasins Creed 2, Left 4 Dead 2, MW2 and Batman Arkham Asylum.

what do you think of this.

Me i'm happy because I love Uncharted 2

Anyway, yes Uncharted 2 deserved it, and I too am glad that it won, even though my choice wasnät even in the nominations.

Better than MW2 winning. Uncharted was great, at least from what I played at a game kiosk.

I disagree but that's not a big issue. Just because my game of choice didn't win doesn't make it any less fun to play.

I find it amusing that Uncharted is the only one up there that I haven't played. I skipped it purposely due to overwhelming hype, but if it can rank up better than every other game listed, then it must be the that good.

Although I'll be impressed when I see it.

I would've gone for Arkham Asylum myself, but Uncharted 2 seems like a good game even tho I've never played it.

Does it matter, it's just one giant sized poll. Uncharted 2 had the most fans so it won. There was no jury involved, no experts who dissected the game, it was a popularity contest and Uncharted won.

Not saying Uncharted 2 is bad, I played it an liked it. I'm just saying that you shouldn't put so much weight behind the Spike VGA, they say just about as much as a daily poll on GameFAQs...

I'd have liked L4D or Arkham Asylum to get it, but I do like Uncharted, so... That's ok.

I'm just really glad Modern Warfare didn't get it. Maybe people will open their eyes and realise that there are other gam...- AHAHAHAHHAAH. Oh god, I couldn't bring myself to finish that sentence.

Hmm. Pretty indifferent, and I expect this thread to turn into a MW2 hate-fest as usual.

Personally, I'd go with Assasin's Creed 2.

I dunno... 2009 didn't really have one game that stood out as the abslute best. MW2 had the potential, but IW screwed over the PC gamers, so fuck them. I guess Uncharted is as good a choice as any.

I'm a little surprised by that choice. I would have assumed Modern Warfare 2 the winner, because it's the most similar to Halo. So I have to assume that the Uncharted games are far more shallow and droll then I've been led to believe. My personal favorite game for 2009 is Dragon Age: Origins, which wasn't even nominated. Not that I'm surprised, no frat boy would play that game. They might catch a raging case of nerd.

OT - Out of that list, I'd have said Arkham Asylum would have been the best. Then again, Borderlands is my game of the year, so all of those choices are, in fact, wrong.

Demon's Souls should have won, but Uncharted 2 is still an amazing game.
