I kinda liked the multiplayer mode. It's pretty fun and a different kind of challenge. It gets especially awesome if you've chosen to be space marines and have the Apothecarian, since he becomes a one man army later on. I remember playing 3 vs 3, where I could sometimes hold back the enemies' advance with just him. Fun for me, not so much for the other guys maybe
I'm partial to the Eldar. Despite the entertainment from the Orks, raw killing power of the Chaos Marines, and the sheer awesomeness of the Tau, I can't get past the idea of being... well, space elves.
I'm interested in hearing what other people have in mind as their favorites

Who cares about the validity of the 'AI' in an RTS game? >_>
I mean seriously, you play against the computer a few times to figure out what your units does, what does it matter that it's dumb? I don't remember the AI from Starcraft or Warcraft III being much smarter... I mean it's the same thing as complaining about the AI in a fighting game - sure, it's nice if it's competent, but ultimately the game is really about fighting other people, not the AI.
Requisition point do not represent much, I agree... but it's an abstract concept used to represent map control.
Ultimately this create a game that is more about map control and strategy and is extremely dynamic... with a lot of moving around, flanking and splitting your units into small regiments unlike the usual 'Mass a big army and have it headbutt the other guy's big army and hope it wins' we often see in RTS.
Yeah, so I like the Orks. I mean 6pt soldier that can dish out 4 WS4 S4 attacks on the charge. Nothing like assualting a 20 gaunt unit and reducing it to 4 gaunts in ONE TURN.
I have been starting a Chaos Space Marine army simply because at the local tournie I occassionaly go to my army is the largest one their because 75% of the people play SSPEECE MUHRENES! (and at least 2 of these people play Smurfs) or some form of them so my army is ALWAYS the largest there and thus I take longer to: get my models out, get them into units, set them up on the board, and move them each turn. So I plan on making an army that I can play quickly i.e. CSM.
P.S. The poll option for the orks SHOULD read: "Orks WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGHHHH!"
Im all for Necrons. Dont take my word for it, but the next update is supposedly bullshit, so if thats true then my favorite will probably become either Tau, Orks, Or Tyranids
Currently building my first army and I chose Imperial Guard. I started a long time ago and I am seriously considering scrapping my first 20 or so models and starting over. They look terrible. I painted em when I was 12. I am now 23 and starting up again and lets just say I am considerably better at the hobby despite not doing it for 11 years.
My girlfriend is starting with Tau. I kinda like them. I put the models together and primed em for her and shes going to start painting tomorrow. I don't know what my second army would be but right now I should focus on my guard.

I prefer SM because they're just s hard to kill! (a Baneblade unloaded on one of my Terminator squads, and not a single one bit the dust. In fact, they reached it the next round and chain-fisted it's ass off.)
