Is...is that a necron torso flying up there?
No. Some kind of a servitor. The poster below your quoted post has a reasonable explanation.

Wankhammer? Only decent race is the Tau. At least i can sort of sympathize with them. And with Imperial Guard (a bit). Everyone else is batshit bonkers, and wants only one thing - kill brutally murder everyone else.

And it could have been fun to watch if everyone weren't taking it so damn seriously.
Pretty much this, on both counts. The former is partly because I prefer the Tau's mechs (I have an odd thing against 4-legged mechs), and the latter is because I've had the misfortune of arguing with a WH40k fan here.

I collect imperial fists (marines) and biel tann (eldar). My marines have had mixed successes after many many encounters with daemons, however my eldar are as of yet undefeated.

The poll really needs more options. Shame the limit's hit so early.

Chaos is more than just Chaos Marines. I've seen Chaos armies without a single marine in them.

They could really do with having Chaos with separate listings for demon-only, cultist-only and marine-only armies as well as mixed chaos forces, because of how differently they play.

And Eldar should be split into Craftworld Eldar, Dark Eldar and Harlequins. Otherwise listing Space Marines and Chaos Marines as separate armies is a double standard.

And Inquisition isn't just one army type either, Ordo Malleus, Ordo Hereticus, Ordo Xenos, each with a specific purpose and a completely different unit list. Demon, Witch, and Alien Hunters respectively.

And Grey Knights who are usually seen as part of Ordo Malleus armies in WH40k, but can operate independently as well, Sisters of Battle with Hereticus, and Blackwatch with Ordo Xenos. Sisters of Battle were listed as a separate army in their own right in previous incarnations of 40k rules, it's only recently they've been relegated to a subsection of an Inquisition army.

Space marines; Dark Templars to be more precise but also a fan of the Dark Angels because of their art style and colorful history. The Salamanders are good in the regards that they care about civilian lifes (Not all Imperium forces are cruel and vicious like others have commented on).

Also like both the Thousand Sons because of their tragic fall and the Alpha Legion for in general stealth abilitys as far as chaos marines are concerned, if only as worthy enemies. Inquistion is cool too.

Used to be a Tau fan but moved on after getting into the books like the Horus Heresy series among others.

Space Marines. I got mine painted in a nice black/ dark gold color that looks pretty badass. Also, my commander for my force is a 315 point BAMF (technically higher, but I use homemade rules for him, which lessens the cost slightly). I should post a picture sometime.

Also, Space Marines are a bit easier to get into. However, Necrons are one of the more awesome races, because they're alien robot zombies.

I used to have Orks before I got beaten with them every time, and I painted them awfully, owing to my youth, so I just started from scratch with the Necrons. Good decision by me.

I forgot to post my favourites.

Oops.

Depends on my mood, but I switch between various incarnations of Eldar (mostly Harlequins and Dark Eldar though) and Tau.

Harlequins because, well, they're just awesome.

Eldar in general because... When push comes to shove, Eldar step out of the way.

Tau because of an epic unit of Fire Warriors who became legends.

We were playing a match where a Tau world was under attack by a combined Impeium invasion force, and a Space Marine vanguard was intercepted on their way to a major city. It was the opening battle of a map-based campaign set before direct contact between Humans and Tau.

In the second turn a Terminator Chaplain with a 10-man squad of Marines got into hand-to-hand combat with one of my 8-man Fire Warrior squads. Two turns later they'd only managed to kill two of us, and lost everyone but the Chaplain. Alongside this evidence of Tau superiority in close combat (no really), my Broadside Battlesuits and Hammerhead Tank had eliminated all vehicle support while suffering no casualties of their own. My other Fire Warriors had been hurt by heavy weapons fire, but were holding the line.

At this point, the Chaplain's armour finally cracked under desperate point-blank Pulse Rifle fire.

With no chance of a victory, and even a close defeat looking unlikely, the Space Marine player called for Exterminatus. We ruled that each unit had to roll 7+ on 1D6 to not die when the planet blew up, so he could at least see my Fire Warriors fall. We counted it as a clear victory to me in the campaign we were playing, but removed the planet from the game. Along with all the invading forces.

A perfectly sized and shaped flake of plaster fell from the roof perfectly timed and placed to look like a 7th dot as my first roll stopped on 6.

He conceded that my remaining 6 Fire Warriors were in fact invulnerable. And to this day, nobody has managed to kill off any of those 6 survivors. Inlcuding the time they got charged by three Carnifexes which managed not to land a single hit in 3 consective rounds of combat.

I love my tau but these days im collecting a Dark Angels first company army. Nothing like an entire army of termies to ruin your day.

Lore wise i also enjoy the other marine chapters esp after reading the Horus Heresy books.

I'm partial to the Eldar. Despite the entertainment from the Orks, raw killing power of the Chaos Marines, and the sheer awesomeness of the Tau, I can't get past the idea of being... well, space elves.
I think I love you.

Kidding, but seriously I renamed my profile Eldarion because its both a Warhemmer 40k Eldar reference but also a lord of the rings reference.
