"it is less bad then alcohol"

that is debatable.

"Its natural."

*cough* what isn't?
I would love to here your thoughts on how alcohol is worse than weed.

drugs that are not natural: heroin, cocaine, meth, prescription pills.

Why bother? "Oh it's fun!" so what? It's just pointless. It doesn't help you, it doesn't hurt you. Not only that but it's illegal. So if it does pretty much nothing and can get you in trouble why fucking bother? And don't give me the "Well if it was legal..." bullshit. It's illegal now and will likely be in the near future.

By the way wrong forum. Go to off topic discussion.

Oh yes you ca-haaaan (can)!
No, you cannot. It doesn't create a chemical addiction within your body. The only addiction you get is psychological, which doesn't carry the risk of death when going cold turkey.

I'm against weed for two reasons:

1. I'm asthmatic, VERY BADLY asthmatic, and thus against all forms of smoke.

2. Weed does cloud judgment and makes you stupider, and I don't want high people on the road. Drunks are bad enough.

I'm apposed to hedonism in general, be it alcohol, marijuana, harder drugs, softer drugs, ambiguous sexual acts, and the likes. While I'm not apposed to people being happy, I'm apposed to people whose actions are solely to attain pleasure. I would much prefer it derived from other things, but there's little I can do.

I would believe it bad, but if you're asking if it's worse than other things? It's all the same to me.

Why is this in gaming discussion?

Does this forum really need a morality/legality opinion section on marijuana? Do we really need to go there, on the Escapist.

Come on guys... guys.. come on. Guys. Seriously.

Death or not, it's still addictive.

I mean, that's like saying porn isn't addictive. IT IS. Psychological pull to do something over and over = addiction.

Yes, but the first few times you smoke you won't feel anything (I know I didn't).

And for the people who say "no" then you have to TRY IT before you can get on your high horse and rant.

I've heard that weed gets in the way of natural highs, which are the only kind I go through. Seriously, snowboarding in Colorado while wearing nothing but jeans, a turtle neck, and a pair of aviators can take you higher than cocaine mixed with heroin.

I read, I comprehend, I disagree.

I don't care whether I get physically or psychologically addicted, because technicalities make me mad. The point is, I don't wanna be addicted!

Sorry, I can't. It makes me die. Literally.

Doesn't seem like a good idea, then.

Smoked it every day since I was thirteen, and it's the best decision I ever made. I'm happy and chilled, with an IQ over "genius" level (ahem), and I owe it all to that fantastic plant. Honest.

It destroys brain cells more then faster then alcohol. And The reason it's illegal is because this is exactly why people can't do it cause THIS WILL HAPPEN if it's legal. Car wrecks will be on the rise. People will die.
That's incorrect.

It kills nothing, it only uses up some chemicals, namely dopamine, which accounts for how it feels so good.

Driving high is significantly less dangerous than driving drunk, but neither are a good thing.
My dad is the best driver I know, and I won't get into a car with him unless he's had a spliff... (road rage)...

Smoke weed ev'ry day...

Well that's your problem you got asthma, not ours. If you can't smoke, sorry, but it's not gonna stop me from doing it and it doesn't make smoking weed "bad", just bad for YOU.

You can get addicted to ANYTHING
(Just like too much of ANYTHING will kill you)

and what do you care since you can't smoke the stuff?

Also sounds like a good way to get hypothermia

It's all up to self control, if you feel you would become addicted too easily, then that's your call.

And yes, I'm aware that some people get addicted to pot, there's nothing new here. Everything that is enjoyable has a potential for addictiveness. Using addiction as an argument where there is no physical addiction doesn't work because of that fact.

My point wasn't to say there wasn't any potential for addiction, I was correcting an earlier poster's error in attempting to refute the fact that pot had physically addictive qualities. And it's not just a minor technicality, not by any stretch. Substances that have physically addictive qualities are MUCH more difficult to stop using, and they also pose a much higher risk towards the user who is attempting to quit.

Which is why I, myself, am against it.

And I'm also against it because people will smoke close to me, causing my lungs to stop working, and people will drive high (sounds almost as awesome as driving drunk).

Actually, it's really common to come across some reefers up on the mountain. Seriously, half the time the entire goddamn park smells like pot.
