Okay, I'm not sure in America, but recently in the UK the television program Robot Wars (C) has got a mini revival through the t.v channel Dave. I was wondering would anyone love a new series to this once inspiring show?

Personally, I would, because I remember being very young and wishing I could make some of these technical robots but always beleived the massive engineering problems would cause my head to explode. Then i read up on some of the smaller bots and how they started. Most of them were RC cars which were ripped apart and an axe taped to the top.

I would love for it to be back. Would you?

Robot Wars sucked Battle Bots it used to be on comedy central the robots were way better and the overall show was at a higher production level. Vlad the Impaler, Biohazard, Zippo that show was tits. I have no idea why this show was taken off the air, there were two seasons of it and then it just went away.
Battlebots looks badass but never got it here in england. might have to yubtub it a bit...

I frigin enjoyed it, whenever I could I would watch it.

It was the only show where the crowd and the viewers at home could watch a robot from Ireland get set on fire (Diotoir incidentally)

That was an amazing game! My succession of insanely maneuverable spike covered bots owned everything!

Although I think most games came down to me pushing people into the pit/fire/environmental hazard regardless of the weaponry on my robot...

Why it should come back: I watched the Dave repeats almost religiously because it was so much fun.
Why it shouldn't come back: To say age has not been kind to Craig Charles would be an understatement, and he did rather carry the show (no, I didn't see the first series with Clarkson)

I would watch a new series in a heartbeat though.

OT: Red Dwarf IS coming back, so that obviously doesn't count.
(I personally worry that the new series will only serve to tarnish the fantastic early ones, especially as Doug Naylor is remaining solo and Back to Earth...was passable but not fantastic)

One show I would definitely like back though is X-Fire.

Like Robot Wars, it took what could have been a dull subject (paintball) and garnished it with style (all the videogame elements and the jokey humour of the Special Forces) and made it exciting. Unfortunately it was cancelled due to (not joking) 9/11 occurring midway through the series run. Alas.

Wait, the one with the bloke who plays David Lister in Red Dwarf as the host?
And the chainsaw-Triceratops?
And the flamethrower-knight?

Fuckin'-A.
Yeah, that was Robot Wars!.

I liked the House robots way more than the contestants anyway >_> So I'm not bothered if they make a new series or not, as long as they bring back the old robots! :D

I recently played through that again. I've always wondered if the chainsaw was intentionally as rubbish as it was or if someone misplaced the decimal point.
I also would like to mention that the Lifting Arm pwns all. <3

As much I was a huge fan of the show I will say no. I just lost intrests of the show when Craig Charles start wearing that ridiculous yellow leather jacket and it became WWE (when it wasn't a touranment anymore and it was just a set of matches were in different form then to just beat each other up)

Wow, I was musing the same thing whilst watching it on Dave the other day. I'd so build a robot if it came back...

Didn't some of the people from Mythbusters show up in Battlebots? I liked the show, and wouldn't mind seeing more. But then again, I'm not going out of my way for it, because I've got better things going on.

The house bot, Sir killalot, was possibly the coolest thing I ever witnessed as a kid.
I always preferred Shunt... And it would be cool to see some new series of it, I'd like to think the world of miniature fighting robots has advanced a bit (technology wise) in recent years, and could produce some even more ridiculous robots.

I wish they'd re release that game right now with good graphics and a non-shit physics and damage engine. That would be fucking heaven.

OT: Yes I do wish for it. Robot Wars is AWESOME.
