Yes. If they bring it back though can they really bring back the style of it? I don't want another Gladiators.

I loved Robot Wars so much. I'd say it's largely responsible for my interest in engineering and technology. Basically, entering it is a childhood dream of mine.

You can guess my opinion on bringing it back.

Me and my friend saw it whilst flicking through the channels the other week. SO AWESOME!

I had a Sir Killalot, Sgt Bash and Matilda RC bots. I <3'd 'em.

If it came back fully, I don't think I'd be able to build a bot, unless wrapping small children in tin foil counts.

yes

loved robot wars, if i had the know how and time to build a decent machine id enter :D

plus a big thank you to tomtom94 for reminding me of the greatness of x fire :D

also a show i remember (think it was called time commanders) where 4 people would play rome total war fighting historical battles and seeing if they could come up with the same result as history, there are more total war games out now, so that show could be revived..........pretty please tv gods :)

I'm going to say no, simply because some things are better left as they were, incredibly enjoyable at the time.

The crystal maze is another example. It should remain in the realms of nostalgia where it is untarnished. With Robot Wars you can stick on a repeat on Dave and enjoy the show, as you get taken back to when you were 10 years old watching it at 6 pm on a Friday night with the family.

A new series would never be as good as you'll always be comparing it to the originals which still hold a place in the happy memories section of the brain.

Which is why the Crystal Maze failed, without Richard O'Brien, despite being the same show, it lost the awesome factor and so it bombed.

An entirely new re-vamp with a different spin could work and could become successful. The premise would still be fighting with robots, but it would have to become a show in its own right, not just "Robot Wars + 10".

Family Fortunes is the best example I can think of off the top of my head. With a re-vamp we lost interest in seeing just regular families go on the show, it had been done before. So they make it All Star Family Fortunes and it becomes a different show with its own host.

I see your point and think that would work better. However ithought that would come as a standard because, lets face it, the old bots were basic. They could have anything on nowadays because anyone with a wrench, an RC car and a CD spinner wouldn't be able to become champions easy.

Here's looking at you Hypnodisc...

Meh that show was ok. Im not for or against. Some times Im in the mood to watch robots attack each other. I didn't like the format of the show. Watch one episode and you have watched them all. If they messed it up a bit I would be more willing to watch the show.

I have vague memories of the hypno-disc robot shredding some others to pieces. It was pretty cool.

My favourite though, is

Not the first time i've heard Craig Charles shout "Matildas been penetrated!"...
Smutty jokes aside, i loved when hypnodisc was this god of robot wars, near undefeated. Then Razor came in and clamped the guy in half. No messing around.
