Some websites ask you to enter your birth date to check you're over 18 (or sometimes 16 maybe). What do you usually enter?

I personally always go out of my way to answer the truth, and I wanted to know how common that was.

As Frontiersman, I am allowed to watch it all, (take that kiddies!) so I just enter my real birth date. Though, when I was younger, I used to be born in 1,7,1870. Dunno why I chose that date, but I did.

If I'm actually signed into the website, I'll enter my real birth date, just in case they have a popup screaming "LIAR!" for inconsistent answers. Otherwise it's 1/1/197x or so.

For videos, I put the year, so what if the month/day is off.
For the more legitimate stuff, I put everything in.

I scroll down on the year, and pick one beyond the 90's. Sometimes I'm and 80's man, sometimes a 70's, occasionally a 60's.

For a privately owned website I always give a fake one and I always give my real one when it's a bureaucratic, publicly owned website.

If I'm signing up for a site (like this one), I'll put my real birth date. In any other case, I can never really trust that a site asking for my birth date will keep it secure or doesn't have ulterior motives. It's overly paranoid, sure, and there are about million other people in the world that have the same one, but it doesn't mean I feel comfortable. 1/1/1980

Since turning 15 (I'm 16 now) I usually use my real date. 1995. But when I was under 15 or if I need to be over 18 I add 10 and say I was born in '85

Depends, for a site and login et cetera, normally my real birthdate, but if I want to watch a video that I know will only be happy if I am 18, then I am born on the: 1 / 1 / 1990.

I'm one of those people who always uses their real birthdates. Even to watch game trailers and what not. Yeah. I'm honest to a fault.

I'm weird, because I give a specific date, but not my own birth-date. 24th November 1968

And it has no bearing on anything whatsoever...

Depends. If I am actually of suitable age, I'll use mine. If I am too young (Which used to be a weird problem, seeing as games occasionally have a lower rating in Australia, meaning I was unable to watch trailers of games I then bought legally) then I go 28/10/1980.

On that one gaming site I frequent? I only enter the year, because unless it has been changed since I last checked, it only actually needs the year- and don't get cute and say "But that's because the first two fields are already filled in"- WRONG! They clearly say... Something, I forget. Something that isn't 1.

If I think I'll be coming back, and the site will save it, my real age. Otherwise 1/1/whatever the spin of my mouse wheel lands on or how far I flick the slider.

Something random if I'm in a hurry (usually resembling 1/1/196x), but often just my real birth date or something close enough to it.

Depends what the need is. If its for an online profile, I'll use my real one.

If its for those god damn annoying queries this, and other sites use before you watch a game trailer, then I was born on the 1st of January 1900 - the easiest date to enter :).

Its ok, I'm 24. But it annoys the hell out of my getting asked that all the time, especially on sites that I've already signed in with my aged registered....
