When I was at uni I had a 250gb portable USB powered external harddrive, does that make me a 1/4 of an uber nerd by your definition? Seeing that it was usb powered and portable (it was just a bit bigger than an iphone) I saw no need to buy a memory stick.

So to answer your question, if I had a memory stick then I would call it a memory stick. However I call my portable external harddrive an external harddrive.

USB is the name of the port. I call it an USB stick.
what he said. as usb describes the bus, and it's a stick put into that, they're usb-sticks

"usb" is the port...... *facepalm*
memory stick/flash drive would be appropriate, I think.

I usually call them flash drive but I may call them USB if someone recently called it a flash drive. Keeping things fresh.

You NEED to see the Terminator films. From the beginning. And try not to focus on the fact that the Terminator is a puppet in the first film.
Well, personally I didn't manage.
I burst out laughing when I saw it for the first time a few weeks ago.

Almost everyone in Israel call 'em Disk-on-keys. The name just stuck, I guess. Plus it's very easy to pronounce in Hebrew.
