Add "timed missions that require you to have attempted it a million times before and memorised the correct way of completing it" and I'll vote.

Damn I hate those.

Babysitting in an fps is incredibly annoying, especially when they insist on running out and being gunned down by everyone in the nearby area. Also when they walk slow as balls, also when I am forced to have an incredibly stupid bot partner when all I want is some solo play. DAMN.

babysitting and somehow giving the baby a gun in re5 made it worse than watching ashley in re4 (at least she listened)

Driving section in an FPS, and not only in FPS. The car in Mass Effect handled like a blindfolded, retarded giraffe on rollerblades.

Baby-Sitting/Escort.
The person you're supposed to protect is usually too freaking fragile.
That in itself wouldn't be a problem if their AI was good.
But nooo, let's run ahead into a horde of monsters or get stuck on world objects until we die...
The combination of fragility and stupidity makes escort missions the worst of the listed tasks.

Babysitting. Makes all the firefights less fun.

But on the matter of flashlights. I don't really hate it. It suits some purpose. But i think it's just really low to resort to that just to make it "scarier" or whatever.

I was a toss up between defending and babysitting. Both of these things could be removed from gaming tomorrow, and I would not even blink.

baby sitting for me as well. They're just GAH and whatever NPC you have to look after always moves so damn slow.

RE4 at least had Ashley duck and stuff when you pointed a gun at her, and you could hide her in dumpsters and stuff. I didn't like having to take care of her, but at least they made it quite a manageable task.

Grinding.

Dear god, grinding. It's not enjoyable, it just isn't. I don't want to do the same thing over and over and over again. I'd rather just enjoy the challenge of trying to beat things while underpowered.
For example, in The Final Fantasy Legend (an old Game Boy game that has nothing to do with the Final Fantasy series except that it was also published by Square, I got to (and killed) the final boss Creator dude with only a naked Human fighter wielding multiple saws (not the gun, but rather the woodworking implement) with an incredibly low attack, but who was fast as hell. I dropped everyone else after the first two worlds and ran around OHKOing all the bosses with my saws. It was hilarious.

there was a glitch in the code that meant that a saw had a 75% chance of OHKOing anything with a higher defense than the character wielding it (it was supposed to work the other way around, OHKOing anything with a LOWER defense), so by abstaining from armor I ensured that my character had 1 defense and thus could OHKO anything.

With much saving and reloading, hilarity ensued.
LOL!
That's giggle-worthy, you should've made a montage for youtube and put some sweetass backing track to it like 'Eye of the Tiger', or 'Don't stop me now'.

GOLD!

Babysitting. After a point, it is myself who is their biggest danger.

It's a tough call but I went with babysitting. Stuff like protecting Eve in MGS3 is just infuriating. Defending canbe quite annoying if the thing you're defending has a crappy health bar and the enemies charge at it with no concerns over their own health. The driving part in Gears of war 1 was a low point. Back tracking can be kinda fun depending on the location.
