Yeah, I know, I liked WW's graphics alot, but out of all the games, on or off the list, Prince of Persia is my favorite.
That game is fantastic looking, the best example of cell shading I have ever seen.

Jet Set Radio was the game that started cel shading, and did it pretty well, along with the dequel. I'd also pitch a vote in for Crackdown.

Ōkami (ooh look he went into the character map and got the right accent and everything!)

Really. I've only been playing for the last two days and It's probably the prettiest game I've seen.

I thought Okami was really well done, beautiful style, and they even managed to make the look relevant to the gameplay.

Team Fortress 2, I'd have to say, having never played any other cell-shaded game, although Prince of Persia looks graphically incredible.

You eh, forgot Okami up there. Any game that can make full-3D graphics look like an ukiyo-e painting deserves this title without a second thought.

cel-shading graphics were once amazingly unique, and made a game stand out from the crowd. these days though, cel-shading is seen more and more frequently. so, i decided to start a thread about it! what does everyone think the best cel-shaders are? i have a few favourites, so i'l put them in a poll... of course, there are many more games with cel-shading graphics (just look at the list of cel-shaded games on Wikepedia), so please mention others that you think would be cool (i'l also add an "others" choice on the poll)

so here are my top 3 candidates:

Valkyria Chronicles
Street Fighter 4
Prince of Persia

note that they don't have to be from 2008, (hence my Street Fighter 4 choice).

no flaming or rudeness in general please.
the best one is Naruto

I think Okami had the best cel shading, simply because it was used for meaningful effect and accomplished it well. The game ended up looking like a woodblock painting, which made sense in the context of the world.

Hmm, I vote for...other, since the ones on the list don't compare with some of the games I think of as having best cell-shaded graphics, although Prince of Persia comes close. The Dragon Quest games, specifically VIII, are beautiful, Viewtiful Joe likewise, and the Dragonball Z games tend to look really nice as well, particularly Burst Limit and the Tenkaichi games for the PS2 and Wii.

EDIT: I'm gonna agree with crowd here as well, and say Okami should have been up there.

Cell-shading is a stylistic endeavor as well as a rendering method.

Consider: Jet Set Radio Future VS Killer 7

JSRF
Futuristic, Punk, Urban and Sub-culture themes abound. The style of cell-shading used here provided more pop the way graffiti pops from a dreary sewer wall.

Killer 7
Dark, Confusing and Dangerous around every corner. Cell-shading was used to give a foreboding feeling. Objects without light were almost unknown, barely perceptible.

In short: the question is somewhat silly. The rendering method is fun, but when two games use the same method for totally different purposes it makes the question weird to consider.

Prince of Persia, easially. Probley the most beautiful game I have ever played. Doesn't make it that great however. No where near as good as any of the original trilogy, including Warrior Within.
I disagree. I played Warrior Within for the first time today (just downloaded it off steam, wanted to see what the fuss was about).
...I felt like I was violated.
Maybe its because I just finished a playthrough of SoT, so the contrast was right there, but it was horrible, at least so far. Please tell me it gets better after the first 15 minutes.

Anyway, I also disagree because I love the new PoP.
New pop is equal to SoT for me, and just a bit better than TThe Two Thrones. I never played WW. Its also the most beutiful game I have ever played, since I haven't gotten a chance to try okami or XIII yet.

Team fortress 2 is cell shaded isn't it? Looks fantastic.
+1. TF2 looks great and any screenshot - even if it's just of a wall - is instantly recognisable. The characters are both stylish and easily identifiable, at both long and short range. It's unique but easy to understand; it just works.
