Atheism is lack of belief in god.
That's agnosticism.

Atheism is belief in the non-existence of God. Note the difference.
Your statement is false.
Agnostic
1: a person who holds the view that any ultimate reality (as God) is unknown and probably unknowable. One who is not committed to believing in either the existence or the nonexistence of God or a god
2: a person unwilling to commit to an opinion about something

Both religios people and atheists can be agnostics at the same time.

Wow, there are satanists and a single muslim on this forum! Awesome. :D

Why is there no distinction between agnostic and atheist? There's a pretty big difference. Also, from an a/anti/nontheistic point of view, how about the secular movements? Positivism, humanism, etc?

Edit: INDEED! PASTAFARIANISM. WHERE IS IT?!

None of the above. I believe in some divine being that created the big bang because it was bored. Whether or not it had any plans for what was to follow, is anyone's guess.

Oh right, I also believe this entity created or planted the "spark of life", whatever it was that made one or more single-celled organisms come alive from what must at some point have been a mere pile of lifeless material.

I identify as a Satanist. I'm actually surprised I'm not the only one here, though I assume at least a few are joke responses...

I don't consider religion a part of my life, the option of none should be there, and I don't mean agnostic or atheist, those regard having religious beliefs, I don't have ANY, I don't like how you are labeled by your religion, religion isn't a physical part of you so it cannot be bound to a person like hair color or shoe size. None is an option, its my option.

This is my major issue with people who state that 'atheism is a religion'. Atheism is hardly codified, it has one core belief and that is all. I'm atheist, but simply because I don't think about metaphysical forces at all. Is that a religion? I should think not. In the same way that being a plumber but owning a hammer doesn't make you a carpenter, having no belief in the supernatural isn't a religion, at least in my definition. If I deem the religious scene as irrelevant, and go off to format my own beliefs, why am I still jumbled into a group and then, in some cases, harassed for it?
see me and you are on the same boat with that one, the way i think of religion doesn't jive wel from the so called normal beliefs but if it were the case i would rather not be called Atheist.
