Missouri.....hey at least it's not Kansas
It is the other way around in Kansas.

I am from Kansas which has the Big Red 1, numerous natural resources, where the inventor of basketball James Naismith lived (lived, not born), and the discovery place of helium.

Upstate New York.

We're like a less crazy Pennsylvania.

It's a very rural area, but the only we grow is rocks. Seriously, the soil is fucking shitty. The nearest town has about 400 people in it, and that's where the school is. When school is in session, the population almost doubles...

Also, apparently no one on the internet is from Upstate New York. New York City, yeah, but never here. It makes me sad...

it doesn't rock. not even close.

Same state as this guy.

No, I'm not not a Mormon before you ask.

I am in the South-East portion of the state which is... well... Let's call it "low population".
Moab, Utah: Not quite the middle of fucking nowhere, but close enough.

New York City might as well be another state. You go like 50 miles north of here and it's a completely different culture, climate and economy in rural NY.

I'm from NYC. While we don't have New York accents, we do have the Brooklyn hand motions while talking.

I quite like it here, though. It's like the only place where subways are crowded at 2 in the morning, and surprisingly not by dead drunks or homeless people. Mostly college kids.
the college kids who are most likely...drunk...or goign home from work back to Staten Island....and HELLO fellow New Yorkiean....sup
Not much, how's that recent snow treating you?

Apparently, I'm the only New Jerseyan here. No, I don't know Snookie. No, I won't give you my recipe for spaghetti sauce. No, we don't mooch off of New York's sports teams.
You're not alone.

I'm from New York, and I live pretty close to the city. I'm not too big of a fan of NYC, though, it smells terrible, it's always noisy, and people there can be absolutely insane. I guess it can be a fun place to be with friends, though...

No, those are mid-state as far as I know.

As for my survival, I credit the internet and Hot Pockets. Oh, and a healthy dose of Mysanthropy.

I'm from Oregon, and it rocks because it's nice and green(at the cost of having a shit-ton of rain).

Yeah, nothing of any huge deal happens or comes from here, but I like it being quiet.

EDIT: Also, we have a fairly vibrant music and arts community?
Me too. I love living in Oregon, because I like the rain sometimes and it is really beautiful here in the Fall, especially on my universities campus.

Also OP, I think you should have put a Northwest Option there because there is a pretty big difference between California and NW States like Oregon, Washington, and Idaho.

Yeah I can vouch for that, I'm dating a "texan" from the Dallas/Fortworth area he dosen't even have a southern Accent. And I lived in College Station and worked at Free Birds Texas Ave you're more likely to run into a hipster that a cowboy (or redneck).
Holy crap! I'm in College Station too. Work at the Starbucks in the Target next to the Freebirds on Texas!!! Small world :D

Also, I'm from El Paso in West Texas, but I think the time I spent in California and being not a moron has distilled the cowboy hatted republicanism out of me.
