America! FUCK YEAH!

Seriously, we're not all like this. I'm yet another American (a Texan, no less) who'd like to line these guys up and stitch them into a human oroborus. But again, Americans don't have some kind of douchebag monopoly going on. In a way, I wish we did: then I could just leave the country, renounce my citizenship and be free of stupid jerks forever.

Both of my grandfathers fought in WWII, and both of them were completely cool with my taking an interest in Japan. I even got to hang out with a 96-year-old Japanese guy who taught me calligraphy, and he didn't seem to hold any hard feelings.

I'm actually looking into going back to Japan and teaching English for a while, if I can find a position.

Fortunately, none of my friends and acquaintances were directly impacted by the quake/tsunami/reactor. My heart goes out to those who were.

Just a correction, the actual deaths of Hiroshima/Nagasaki are estimated at 400,000 due to the after effects of radiation.

This is such old news by now. There was even a thread about it while it was still relevant.

People are mean and they suck. What else is new?

But there are many nations that still hate a rival country that hasn't gone to war with them in decades. It's not that unusual.
There's no need to blame a whole country for what a few people think. These people are just uncaring idiots, and not many people like uncaring idiots.
I'll agree with that. It's true; nobody likes a dick. The personality type, not the other thing. I'm sure there are many people (mostly women) who like the other kind of dick. I knew this Richard once and he was a great guy. :D

Everyone is over thinking this, ANY country in the world would be the same with such a large population and ease of access to an internet site. And honestly, while I do not support nor even like what they're trying to say, some of them are downright hilarious remarks.

This isn't a big deal people, it's the internet. Everything and anything that can happen, will happen, and has happened already.

Pearl Harbor happened when Japan was under rule by a different government. The current Japanese society has no responsibility for what happened in Pearl Harbor. I doubt there are too many people alive in Japan that even remember WWII, let alone Pearl Harbor. Anyone who thinks that the Tsunami was either divine payback for Pearl Harbor or Divine intervention to "wipe out the atheists" can go get fucked by a horse. Actually, I take that back. The idiots that make these claims might actually enjoy that!

/rant

I'm sorry, but WOW. Can someone remind me why we're the most powerful nation in the world again? Because it sure has nothing to do with brainpower!

On the other hand, people like these never have to worry about a zombie apocalypse; they're already brain-dead.

/rant, for real this time.

Pearl Harbor? Is that their only excuse?

What about all of the fucking men who died in the Europeian front of WW2? No one ever says anything bad when something bad happens to Germany!

But no, sense its japan, they get all of the hatemail.
Well, also after WWII Japan and the US were pretty much linked by a virtual umbilical cable due to the Yoshida Doctrine, and other stuff like that. It's not necessarily that Germany didn't do anything on the scale of the Japanese(seeing as they were *almost* worse in the entire grand scheme of the war), but that the US and Japanese populace were pretty much forced together by the governments. Particularly America.

Personally I thought the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki were payback for Pearl Harbour but that's obviously my quaint antiquated thinking at work...

Just my 2 cents as yet another American citizen reading this. I concur that it's irritating to be grouped with others based on my country of residence. Just because I inhabit the same nation doesn't mean I'm automaticaly going to be of the same mind as the kinds of individuals that have said such hateful and misinformed things. Every conceivable collective group has its share of morons. As an example, just look at the trouble with Islamic terrorists. The vast majority of Islamic believers are fine individuals, but zealous extremists cast their shadow over the whole group.

On the issue of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, I dont think it's appropriate of me to say that it counted as payback. I might use a term like that if it were a situation akin to playing pranks. You fool me, I fool you back, and around it goes until someone chooses to end it. However, that's not the case. In war you're out to win and secure the safety of your country and its people. I cant judge the decision of my country's commander-in-chief and advisor(s)of the time as being correct or incorrect. There are some who say that the decision to drop the Atomic Bombs and the resulting soon to be end to the war ultimately saved many lives in comparison to the casualties that would have resulted from a long drawn out campaign in the Pacific. I cant say if this is factual or not. I honestly dont believe anyone can, without the ability to go back in time to explore the alternative. One thing is for sure, though. It would be correct to say it saved more "American Lives", as opposed to just saying more lives in general. That will appear to be a very selfish justification (mind you I'm not the one justifying it- I'm just repeating what has been said), but that's the mentality of War.

Please don't judge us all by those assholes. I swear that most of us are all nice people, it's just the loud douchebags who are "better stories"

Right.

17 people in America are assholes. I think it's fair to say that all of America is like that. I mean, obviously, what are there, 18 people in America? DURRRRR.
Once again. I'm talking about the people that think this, NOT the country.
It doesn't matter if it wasn't your intention, this tread has become a lot about ignorant american hate. not surprising considering a previous tread has confirmed that 13% of escapists want america to be invaded, basically saying they would be cheering that americans would be killed indiscriminately in the streets.

Soooo, when will you guys change the national Anthem to the "team America" theme? :D

Seriously, those People are morons. There are about 300000000 People living in America, at least officially and if i want a Picture like this depicting Americans as being barely intelligent enough to breathe i will find People who'll do finely by pure chance. So many People, there are bound to be some Idiots there. I must be a wizard or something; i bet i can make every single country in the World look stupid.

Everyone thinks this is about America bashing, but it's not, he's just saying these idiots are idiots. And I think anyone with the slightest bit of common sense will agree. I'm American, and you can't ignore that fact that America has a bunch of morons in it, but so does every country in the world. Especially Canada! HAVE AT ME! :p

Americans are typically like bullies
what you just said makes you part of the problem... lumping all of us together because SOME assholes think and behave a certain way. you have the same exact mindset as the people posting all that crap about the earthquake in Japan being payback for the attacks on Pearl Harbor.

those people think of an entire country of people as being one with their government, and somehow being responsible for what that government decided to do almost SEVENTY years ago.

and you, like many others, appear to believe that all Americans share the same thoughts and opinions of every American that happens to be a complete asshole. some jackass KKK member thinks everyone who isnt white is scum, so i must think that too right? i am a fellow American, afterall.

nobody seems to care that America is one of the most generous countries in the world when it comes to natural disasters. even recently, despite this countries' crippling debt, our people and government still donate billions and billions of dollars to Haiti, Japan, and whoever else suffers such tragedies. pretty surprising, coming from a country of bullies, isnt it?

imo, the mindset youve shown here has the same qualities as racism, its just aimed at a different, and more general group of people. but nobody else ever seems to realize this, unfortunately.

oh well

hey! HEY! We aren't all like that. I was praying for japan and donating (well I couldn't donate unfortunately... :/) but if you take a look most of those people are from the south... so just ignore the U.S.'s lower half, inbreeding has taken its toll there :/

And yes, americans suck, blah blah blah...
Wow, way to be an ass to those of us who live in the South. While I won't deny that there's a great many douchebags here...

Jersey Shore isn't filmed in Alabama. I'm fairly certain that Paris Hilton has never even been to Texas. And Westboro Baptist Church is located in Kansas.

There are pieces of human crap all over the world. Don't act like your latitude makes you special. That attitude is just as bad as the Europeans who generalize our entire country.

Oh, and if you feel like I'm jumping down your throat... sorry. Don't take it personally; I'm just fed up with the prevailing notion on this site that "everyone from X part of the world is a terrible person."
