I'm curious to know what kind of mice(?) you use. I use a trackball.
Yes, I spell it lazer.
Do you know there's a difference between Laser and Optical mouses? Laser is newer than optical, even though it's not always the better option. Could you please include both in the poll?

Awesome laser/optical mouse. I don't really know the difference between the two, since I'm pretty dumb when it comes to the technical aspects of computers (and it's a family computer, so I didn't buy the mouse.)

I still remember the days when gamers know a lot about computers... Optical uses a LED to bouncing light off the surface. So if your surface is slightly clear or reflective, it would read. It doesnt really matter for desktops but it does for laptops. Laser is new technology (which i have :D) where its a concentrated laser beam that hits the surface. Since it doesnt need to power a LED, the battery lasts a lot longer

Correct me if im wrong cause im not sure if its correct :S
Ah, well then I have an Optical Mouse. As for the other thing, gaming isn't necessarily synonymous with technological know-how, it's just that sometimes the interests overlap. Personally I think it's neat how gaming is becoming mainstream enough that gamer steriotypes are now largely irrelevant (like the computer nerd/gamer steriotype).

Laser, Microsoft Wireless laser 5000 to be exact. 5 button and scroling both vertical and horrizontal, 1000 dpi. I don't tend to spend much on mice, even this one was just on special offer when I got it.

Luckily, I didn't make the image...though given how often I berate people for calling the Dramatic Prairie Dog a "gopher," I probably shouldn't be surprised.

I've been with Razer mice for my entire gaming career.
-Razer Boomslang (Great for its time)
-Razer Death Adder (Fantastic Mouse)
-Razer Lachesis (Current Mouse, Very Happy With It)
-Razer Lycosa (Current Keyboard, Also Very Happy)

I'm trying not to sound like a spam post here, but Razer make some of the best gear I've ever used, I'm a loyal customer and always will be. They're a little pricey, but it's more than worth it in the long run.

I'll be more then happy to elaborate on the mice if you're thinking about buying them.

Laser stands for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation, so spelling it "Lazer" is incredibly wrong. Sorry if somebody already said this.

That sounds correct, thanks for the explanation. Now, if only the OP would realize his mistake and correct the poll.

By the way, For everybody looking for a new mouse, here [http://www.esreality.com/?a=post&id=1265679] is a somewhat old but still very descriptive and interesting article which compares different mice with each other. Included is a best buy for both quality and economy.

I personally use an MX518, and I can't imagine using anything else. In one of the most intense online FPS game - Unreal Tournament 2004 - reaction time and accuracy are truly important, and this mouse provides it all in plenty. I have tried some newer, e.g. the G5, but the MX518 is just perfect.
