Back then, the ONLY way past Brock in Yellow was to get a Mankey XD

I had Blue as well as Yellow, with a yellow gameboy and a pikachu case for it :3

I couldn't really get past Brock until I got help from my brother :3

I have to disagree. I used a Butterfree.

My first Pokemon was Charmander on Red, but it wasn't my game, it was a friend's older brothers.

I got yellow that Christmas with the Pikachu Gameboy Colo(u)r.

So the first Pokemon I got on my own game was Pikachu on Yellow.

Charmander on red. Im surprised to see as many blue's as I have I thought most people got red. I mean it -was- the one with the dragon, not the turtle w/ water guns.

Edit: With that said I restarted 75% the way through to use Bulbasur, who I still think is the best of the three. Fire had to many weaknesses, and blastoise was to much of a tank imo, but I'll prob be proven wrong with people with actual facts, thats just how I remember it.

Totodile in Pokemon Crystal. Only pokemon i EVER used in the entrie game. Oh sure i caught other pokemon, but i just kept them to have 6 pokemon... yup, went with 1 pokemon through the entire game, including the elite four. I dont know how, but i got him over lvl 100 without hacking/cheating. If my memory is correct, it was lvl 146. I wanted to show my friends but my brother deleted the file.

I once found a lv 146 Golbat in Pokemon red while looking for Missingno...so I am pretty sure it was a glitch that let you do that.

That would have to be Crystal, oddly enough, and I picked Chicorita. Who turned to be slightly better than I thought, as I layed waste to everything that stood in my path.

And strangely, whenever I play Pokemon, I go through, kick ass, wait about a year, start a new game, and play through annoyingly worse.
