Probably Nord, or if magic using interests me, Imperial, so I can be a BattleMage.
But Bretons are generally far better Battlemages.

Solid 40 strength, take the Warrior birthsign in Oblivion, or the Lady in Morrowind...

The 50% Resist Magicka and Dragon Skin (shield power) make them fantastic battlemages, despite the game never suggesting them as such.
Well, magic will probably just be used for backup, in case I get in a pinch. I tend to rely more on melee anyway, even when making any sort of Battlemage.
50% resist magic and +10 to Restoration are still great, then.

Especially the +10 Restoration. I don't think that I've ever used a potion. EVER.

Well, for some reason I can't see the other post you did, so I'm quoting the same thing.
Anyway, I always seem to buy a bunch of buffs and then never use them, but I'll certainly check out Breton Battlemage in Oblivion some time. Thanks for the advice.

Always an Argonian to start. Poison immunity and water breathing are nice. Avoiding the uncanny valley effect by being a reptile dude is nicer.

Also Imperial. Battlemage (or equivalent). Nothing quite like a plate-armored TANK shooting lightning! :D

Either Nord, because of the setting, or Dunmer, because they've been my favourite race since Morrowind.
As for class, none, Bethesda have done away with the class system in Skyrim.

Nord...
And then i end up making light armor, archer, swordsman, illusion character ...

yeah... drunken barbarian race that stats would be perfect for knight end up (all ways i just cant help it) being assasin type character..

Or argonian for it being goood for sneaky character race... tho i will make my first character nord (feels natural choice to this finnish person)

Just sort of wondering what everyone's favorite go-to race is, and what they'll try first in Skyrim.

I combined Redguard, Imperials and Nords, as they're all humans (Bretons have magic, they stayed), so if you chose that, specify which in the comments.

Personally, Bosmer forever. You just can't say no to +15 marksman.
(If an enemy makes it to you alive, you're doing something wrong.)

EDIT: If you want, you can post your favorite class, too.
(Custom class, Marksman, Alchemy, Security, Sneak, and whatever else I feel like)
I'm going to get all TES nerdy and say you should have combined Imperials, Nords and Bretons. They are all descended from Nedes from Atmora whereas Redguards are not and come from Yokuda.

/nerd

Either Redguards or Dunmer. They suit my mix of assasin/warrior mixed types best, I find, and are the most badass.

True. (Touche, sir) However, I was just combining them based on appearance and powers. Imperials, Redguards and Nords are all human, with no innate magical abilities. I separated Bretons because of their natural wizard powers.

I chose Dunmer, because I like to be a horribly overpowered mage =].

My second choice would be an Imperial custom warrior, there's something awesome and special about cutting somethings' body to ribbons.

Can't freakin' wait for the game to come out!

Why they decided to tell us about it a whole year before release, I'll never know.

I always used to play as a Breton and then create a character which specialised in magic and stealth. A wood elf would suit my playing style much better, but personally i've just never liked elves.

Breton or Nord, I can never make a good looking... Anything that isn't human, and I'm not fond of the Imperials.
What about Redgaurds?
Forgot about those actually, silly me.

Edit:

I always go Dunmer in my ES games. They just look meaner and a lot cooler. :D Also...Redguards and Dunmer are gonna be pretty easy to spot in the snow.
There's also that.

Dunmer has yet to disappoint me since I started playing in Morrowind, so I doubt they will let me down in Skyrim. I just have to avoid sneaking in snow covered areas...

I will be an Imperial Knight. I'll rock One Handed Weapons, Block, and Heavy Armor. I'll use Speechcraft and Illusion to Charm allies and send my enemies fleeing to the water closet in terror. I'll beat back foes with my mace, shield, and heavy protective armor while I rule the battlefield with my knightly presence.

Strength of arm and Personality to match are all that I need. That, and just a bit of Luck.

Where's the Nord love, fellas?
EDIT: And apparently I posted here a while back and just forgot about it.
Whoopsie.

Argonian Assassin. Immune to disease, resistant to poison, and I can breathe underwater. Choke on that while you're drowning.

If they add a specific Dragonborn race, I have dibs.
