OT: To me, love is enjoying being with someone and you're not sure why you enjoy it. You know them, you care for them, and you would do anything for them but for reasons that you can't figure out. That's love to me.

Love is a chemical.
Break it down and eventually that's what you'll find. There might be a range of emotions triggered by it, but when it comes down to it love is a chemical response to your body trying to force you to stay with, or get someone. The theory goes that love means the kids have a better chance of surviving with both partners staying together to raise them, hence love. (There are a few other benefits too).
Sorry to get scientific on you, but it rather irritates me to see people make love out to be some mystery, it can be wonderful and cause a crazy emotional rollercoaster, but it's no mystery, it's quite a simple concept, with often complex repercussions.

I think love is when you can commit to someone to the point where you'll put their need in front of your own... and be happy doing it. That and enjoying the moments spent with one another.
There's alot of ways to explain it and I can go on forever about it, but I think what I said is a pretty good example.

I don't know. I've never been loved really nor have I been in love before. At least I don't think it was love.
I can't say I know what love is. I've had my heart crushed so many times in the past that I'm amazed that it's not a whithered and dry piece of meat barely keeping me alive, but I'm still looking for love.
It's somewhere out there. I just have to find it. Hopefully I'll at least have some sort of physical and emotional attraction before I die of old age or commit suicide

An excuse for humans to do what pretty much every other animal on earth does naturally: mate and reproduce. Because we have developed to the point where our consciousness is relatively independent from our instinct, our instinct is forced to influence our consciousness by making it believe certain things. This applies to more than just mating.
