I was having an argument with a friend today. We were arguing over what was weirder, a person not drinking alcohol or a person not drinking coffee. We didn't real have any real reasoning, but I this is the one friend I have (male or female) who doesn't drink alcohol and one of about 2 or 3 who actually start their day with a coffee. I think that (at our age at least 17-18) it's probably weirder to not drink alcohol as I when my friends come round, I don't offer them a coffee...

Thoughts?

I drink neither, therefore, I find neither weird.
Ditto. Well, the odd cup of coffee, and once or twice a glass of rose with a meal.

But generally, I drink neither. And I know other people who do the same.

Not drinking either of them?
Yeah but thats a given... I want opinions that actually count, I thrown "neither" in, everyone votes for that I get nothing out of it...

I personally drink neither but I can see why of the two of them, not drinking alchohol would be seen as the stranger option (many people will openly admit they don't like coffee while booze is still seen as a perfectly normal part of social interaction in our society).

I think, with the replies you have, it is weirder for people to drink either or both of those :p
I drink neither, except the odd glass of wine. white or rose.

O-M-G! Pople not conforming!? What am I supposed to think, how can I make decisions that are contrary to the general population!?

Teenagers who drink coffee think it makes them look like adults, or because they're copying something they saw in; Dawson's Creek, One Tree Hill, The OC, 90210, insert generic teen drama here. Coffee tastes rank, fact.

Alcohol, like religion is just a simple drug to help the masses forget how droll their lives are.

EDIT: What is weird is that you're so blinded by your own lifestyle that you find other people's unusual.

Yeah given the replies I'd agree... But in my real life that can not be true... I must admit I did not expect this at all...

I hope you were being tongue-in-cheek when you posted this.

I don't drink either, I can't see why it would be particularly weird either, though I have friends that go "you can't have fun without alchohol, are you insane!?!?!?".

But then again, my friends are pretty retarded...

Binge = Good!!
Coffee = Smaller boobs!!

(I'm not kidding. If women drink more than 5 cups a day regularly their bust size has been proven to shrink. This has proven to be a problem growing young women whose busts aren't growing to their full potential because they drink too much coffee)

:p

Actually coffee tastes quite good and you can't go wrong with a nice cold beer after a hard days work. But each to his own not everyone likes it.

I never drink coffee and I hardly ever touch alcohol. I'm rather proud of this actually.
I don't consider myself weird.

I'm in the neither category, and I thought I was weird upon opening this thread.
Then I read all the other posts of the same content.
Wow, feeling slightly more normal.
Nor sure if its a good thing though...
