Whaaa...? That's uh... some way to look at it.MiracleOfSound said:So I just watched an episode...
A land full of only females, cynically designed to look like various social subsets of teenage girls - permanently stuck on all fours.
Seems clear why people like it.
That's exactly how it happens, I think. At least, that's how it happened to me.CarpathianMuffin said:To each their own, I say. I'm not saying it's a horrible show based on it being MLP alone, in fact I finally broke down and watched an episode last night and thought it was alright. I just really can't understand how interest gets piqued, with me only checking it out to see what all the noise was about.WolfEdge said:I don't visit 4chan. I don't really take part in all that meme tom-foolery. I don't care about my perceived status on the internet because, well, it's the internet. And yet, I love the newest incarnation of My Little Pony.CarpathianMuffin said:I haven't seen it once, and I can't understand the fascination with it, unless it's some kind of failed ironic statement.
Having said that, let me ask you a question:
If I didn't really like the show, then why would I put effort into defending its virtues? I mean really, nobody would BLAME me for hating it, and it's not like I have anything to gain from telling that sort of lie. Indeed, were it a fact that I actually disliked the show, I would only be hurting myself and my interests by aligning myself in such a way. The obvious and most logical conclusion, then, is that I actually enjoy MLP:FIM due entirely to its own merit, which I and many others feel is extensive.

Yes. One simple typo. I must be stupid. Because one slip up is an accurate measure of intelligence.BudZer said:People like the show. It is honestly good. However, heterosexual males find it humorous that they have the capacity to like such a program as it is not exactly masculine. Hence, it humors them with its content and they humor themselves with their ability to find humorous the content of the show.

Oddly enough, you prove your own point.
You forgot stage 6: Talking about it and continuing the cycle.TheYellowCellPhone said:The five stages of MLP fandom:
1. "This show is about ponies? Gay"
2. "Ok. Fine. Everyone is talking about this show. Might as well watch an episode"
3. "Well, that was pretty good. I got some time; let's see the next episode."
4. "Wow, this is amazing. I can't believe that I watched every episode!"
5. "Dammit, the newest episode is delayed. Time to just search My Little Pony youtube video to pass the time."
Also, I found this on a recent thread:

The puns are flowing! I JUST. CAN'T. CLOP!
As long as someone doesn't stirrup any trouble, I say we roam with it. Wouldn't want to rein in the fun.

I said I highly doubt most of the fans. And while it is true I do feel superior to the vast amount of stupid people of the world, it is not baseless. Every day I see and hear about the endeavors of stupid people and can only conclude people are more inclined to be stupid than not. Why? Because I find her art style appalling? I never liked powerpuff girls as a child. Most people who are fans of the FiM craze are adult males. I have no problem with people liking other things. I've actually seen 2 episodes of this show. The characters lines and voices are like cheesegraters, the artstyle is pretty much what Faust usually does, like rainbow vomit, the storylines just seem laughable at times.Horny Ico said:I haven't felt this much disgust about nostalgia since "Heavens to Metroid". Like Bob Chipman, you dismiss the new because it dares to not be from your precious childhood. Besides, you hate Lauren "Powerpuff" Faust; you clearly have no soul.Emilin_Rose said:Maybe i'm old, or maybe it's because i'm a girl, but i hated both those shows.
Nowadays I can't even search for the old, good MLP, or even the less good but still good MLPTales. All that shows up is this 'friendship is magic' thing that is tearing my childhood happiness to pieces, putting it into a blender, and forcing me to drink it while stomping on my heart.
I hate you lady who created this show. I hate you with every fiber of my being and hope you choke on the cocaine you buy with the money you make off this show. Because that is the only way to make something so awful. With large amounts of cocaine.
They're not whiny. HEAVY is whiiiiny...Emilin_Rose said:Is that why i think FiM is bad? No. It's because the ponies are whiny
