Poll: Whats with the My Little Pony craze?

It's as simple as the fact that it is a good show. I would say on par with Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. Perhaps even better.

Not really, I personally see them as two distinctly different flavors of ice cream.
Just because they were made by the same person doesn't immediately make them similar.

Well I watched the 1st epi and I didn't die or want to so it's watchable. I can say it's better than 90% of the crap on the 2 cartoon showing networks I have.
It's one me over that it doesn't suck, would I watch more.... well time will tell.

The only thing that bothers me is that these pony guys are basically spamming threads with pictures and the like. As a guy above me mentioned, it almost seems like trolling. It's getting a bit old seeing these memes on every thread.

Even 4Chan pretty much banned ponies. If you get banned on /b/ for something you're doing something horrific.

And I don't mean with just with girls. I have several guy friends who are 17 to over 20 and like it. One of them draws em'. I don't knock it but it's a might bit weird.
So, really why do guys like em.
And adding on why do you like / dislike the whole thing, and do you think it's weird that some men (don't know how big it is) like it.

I like it because it's got like-able characters and a nifty art style.

I've watched all of the episodes, it's fun, I don't exactly find it to be the gem everyone says it is but it's not bad. I would say it is definitely trying to be 'Cute' first and 'Funny' second, which makes sense given the target audience.

I think so many people are going crazy over it because it is 'better than it should be', as my brother put it. Which is to say: It's a show for little girls, but there is still just enough entertainment value for older audiences to not shy away from it. Like a reverse hype, people expect it to not be entertaining, so any amount they do find from it is multiplies by the 'Wow I can't believe this is actually good!' factor.
Although I think it helped that so many Cartoon buffs were actually psyched over the series simply because of Lauren Faust.

I don't really think people are simple though, so personal taste does probably play into a greater factor. I don't, by any means, think that the show is bad or that people are 'wrong' in enjoying it. Like many good things, people tend to make it out to be better than it is though.

I don't get it, but I haven't watched it. My TV time has been a little bit lacking as of late.

I might check it out sometime though. If the guys behind Fosters have their hands on this show then it has to be worthwhile.

Its one of those stupid crazes where one guy claimed that the show is awesome and to fit in everyone else started to go along with it.

I do believe that people out there do actually like it but it wouldn't hock me if a majority don't like it and just want to feel like they're part of the crowd.

I have seen an episode, mainly out of curiosity to see what this monstrous craze was about. Watched it, and could not find the answer. Its no smarter than any other kids show, the only things that one could find even remotely appealing is I suppose the impressive animation and actual decent voice actors. I don't see the appeal at all to this show, to be quite honest.

Um... how many kids show have you watched recently. I'd say that there are certainly SMARTER kids show out there but compared to much of the crap that gets churned out MLP:FiM is brilliant. That said, I think some it's appeal is that it scratches a nostalgic itch--it is a kid's show that operates in a similar vein as kid's shows that aired when many of the current 20-somethings WERE little kids.

Yeah, I'd generally agree with you on that, it's getting better. It is a lot better on this forum that most, that's for sure. Though the mods here don't tolerate derailing of threads, so I'm pretty sure that's part of the reason.

Also : Is colt supposed to be a pun (being it means male horse and sounds like cult) or is that just a mis-spelling? If so, Lol.
