So my feelings about easy mode have jumped around a lot, over the years. When I first started gaming, in the early 90s, I would always play on easy because I was a child and would get frustrated easily. Over the years, I became to proud to play on easy mode, as if it made me less of a gamer. I would always start on normal mode and then move up to hard. Now I feel like easy mode is entirely acceptable, depending on the game. A game like Dark Sous or Demon's Souls pretty much has to be hard, because that's the majority of the appeal (and even those games are only hard until you learn the various patterns and secrets). But I am shitty at rts games. My options to get through a campaign is either easy mode or cheating. Dynasty Warriors games are not about challenge or anything like that. They are about hilariously bad voice acting and mindlessly button mashing through thousands of enemies, and I honestly think that playing on harder difficulties actually makes the game less fun.
So what do you all think? How do you feel about easy mode in games?
