Just out of curiosity (and because of an argument I got into with a friend of mine).
What gaming style do you prefer when playing FPS, solo or teamwork-y or both or neither?

I generally like to strike out on my own, but now that I pilot an Atlas, I'm glad of my lancemates covering my back >.>
I can't really turn fast enough to deal with Mechs that get behind me >.>
Oh, and for other FPS games like CoD, I still generally go on my own. Easier to sneak around the enemy, or set up a decent ambush. Well, easier for me, since I don't speak >.>

I'm a lone wolf in the sense that I only play single-player games, and most of those have shitty or stupid companions/teammates that do little more than run through you line of fire (either getting themselves killed or fucking up carefully lined up shots).

Team player all the way! I love support roles, and being able to work in a team to pull off stuff I couldn't do on my own.

I try my best to adapt to whatever the situation demands. Although, if my team-mates seem to care eff-all for our objectives or actual TEAM work, then I'll strike it alone.

I tend to do a bit of both...

Getting some good teamwork going is just awesome, but often it comes down to me playing more efficiently alone.

A great example is when I used to play TF2, working together with my team gave some awesome moments, but alot of the time I'd be on my own sniping/sneaking around the enemy base (As either Spy or Scout... or Sniper... Hurrah for getting good at point blank headshots) and sneaking goes best when you don't have someone else to slip up or get in the way (Or make bad decisions) that gets you spotted, killed and your path of entry sealed up with a Engie nest.

I don't play online shooters alone, I'll only play with a group of friends. I usually take up support roles (especially in BF:BC2 where it's so vital). Medic is the best class anyway.

I am a lone wolf ONLY if not every bloody else is doing that, if my team is in disarray I will just stick to someone who plays half way intelligently and we will very quickly get into a team tactic groove.

I picked Lone Wolf.. because I prefer being in total control... Single player mostly.. but I'm not above having a team with me... Example.. Mass Effect.

I prefer being the ultimate badass... but there's nothing wrong with surrounding yourself with inferior subordinates to solidify your position as supreme badass.

Haha. I'm big on the Mad Cats myself. Good for covering Atlas' :)

I play ridiculously tactically in most games. Works well for both teamwork and solo. I don't leave teammates behind tho.

I change all the bloody time, but I absolutely *love* being a team support battlesniper in TF2. With Huntsman and Jarate.

I love play the support type characters whenever there is the chance to.

Tbh I think theres a difference between 'doing things for the good of the team' and 'being a team player' tho. I'll look after my team mates as best I can, heal and build stuff and give them ammo and whatnot, but I'm still playing by myself without really coordinating. I enjoy playing in a more positive way than most people, but I don't like just being a cog in the machine. I do my own stuff, but that stuff is likely to be for the good of the team.

I prefer teamwork but only if it is done right and I have some kind of communication with my team.

Usually I like to be support, whether it be weapons support like surpressing fire or kiting, or as a medic class.

Lone Wolf. Sniping and killing with melee weapons from behind. Either give me a means to sneak around or a good high position to shoot from.

I prefer team play but I like to have a good team.

If I have a group of good friends who are all high level players and we've all played together before then I love nothing more than team playing, because we all take up roles that suit us and have a much more fun gaming experience because of it. I play a sniper for example, and don't have to worry about anything else, such as defending my position and occasioanlly having to clear a bunker with a shotgun, while my friends take roles like the heavy or the demo guy.

And surprisingly no, we don't particularly like Team Fortress.

I tend to do what's necessary. Be that working with my team towards an objective, or going alone to flank an enemy position.

I do what needs to be done using the tools available to me. That is all.
