Mostly team player. I'll sometimes go out on my own, but I'm usually providing support, or doing something stupid like diving right into an enemy held ring in Gears of War 2 to break their hold on it and give our team a few precious extra seconds flush them out.

Mostly alone, even in team death-matches i tend to do my own thing. I do play as a medic in killzone online but even then i still just do my own thing really, i revive people who are nearby that need reviving, and i can get to, but i still consider myself to be pretty alone.

It depends on the game. In modern class based games, from such as TF2 and the Battlefield series, I'm nothing but a team player -- to the point that my K/D is embarrassing, but my W/L respectable, because I don't really care about my own character's life as long as the death helps the team win.

In old fashioned arena shooters, on the other hand, I prefer to play classic deathmatch, as in, no teams at all, every man for himself. The games are just set up in a way that works better without teams. I'm voting "other," because I'm really all one or all the other, not a bit of both -- which one I am depends on the game.

Inner Sphere freebirth surat! I'd challenge you to a Trial of Grievance, but your barbarian ways are beneath us!

OT: The only multiplayer games I really play are Battlefield games, and lone wolves don't last long there. I like playing as part of a whole.

Neg, the Atlas was designed by the Great Father Kerensky himself.
As such, it leads a star and two points of Mechs, including one such that was piloted by the blessed Kerensky.
I even took a Clan Jade Falcon Star Colonel as my bondsman >.>
Edit: Oh god... stars, points, and lances... I don't even know what I am anymore...
My blood says Kerensky, but my paycheck say Inner Sphere merc... then again, Wolf's Dragoons are clan descendants...

Don't pretend to be a part of our bloodline, you spheroid pirate! Your claim of having "lancemates" condemns you! By the blood of Kerensky, if I had my Timber Wolf here, I'd make you pay for your insulting words.

You swear by the very blood that runs in my veins, the same blood that ran in the veins of the great leader 300 years ago?
Fool!
Now it is I who challenge you, to a trial of possession!
I will take your mech, and your trueborn flesh as my bondsman!
Will you hide behind a wall of steel, or will you face me like the trueborn you act, in a circle of peers?

HA! I do not recognize your right to challenge me, freebirth. You are not my equal by any stretch of the imagination.

But very well. I will face you in a circle of equals. And in the wreck of your unclean battlemech will you rue the day you heard of Stefan Ward.

(Now to find a way to actually simulate this... my weekend's clear if you want to play a round of Battletech :p )

I generally do a bit of both though if I can I will get a small group within a team, around 2-4 players, and work together with them to achieve objectives. Sometime when you find a good set of players like this you can absolutely annihilate the enemy team.

You dishonour the great father. He would be disappointed in how far you have fallen from the ideals laid down by him.
You are not worthy to look upon the Mech he designed, which has been gifted to me, Katherine Kerensky!
You will rue the day that you insulted the blood of our saviour!

(I have no actual way of doing Mech games online/etc, so my conquests are limited to flattening all opposition in singleplayer games. I haven't even been on XBL for... quite a while >.>)

So be it. I will stand your insane prattling no longer. As the challenged party ,I choose augmented combat.

(umm... I get two headshots with my ER Large Lasers. You're dead. :p )

Bit of both but leaning toward team player. It really depends on the game though. In TF2, I'm almost 100% team player. I play medic most of the time and I'll occasionally break away from the pack to ubersaw someone (god is it a great feeling to take down a heavy or a soldier with the saw) but most of the time I stick with protection. In UT however, I'm almost 100% lone wolf. I chose "bit of both".

I usually play as a lone wolf, but I can be a team player if needed. And even though I lone wolf I do come to aid those who need it.

I prefer to be in a squad of other players in most multiplayer FPSes. I do sometimes lone wolf it up but most of the time things like sniping, sneaking, or whatever generally work best when I have friends running distraction.

I like to coordinate with a team if the game and the other players allow me to.

I remember having a lot of fun in Left 4 Dead using my mic to communicate with teammates.
"Hunter left, up high."
"I've been boomed, getting swarmed here. Help!"
"Just run for it, last one through drop a molly in the doorway."
"No, revive the other guy. He's got a pipe!"

Etc etc.

Sadly, if you try that sort of thing in most online games you'll just get yelled at.
"Shut the fuck up ya ******. I'm trying to get a chopper gunner."
"Stop trying to tell me how to play, I don't care if you saw a snip... oh, now I'm dead. Nice job arsehole!"

Etc etc.

So yeah... usually it's lone wolf by necessity.

I tend to leave it to the developers to decide, but I prefer games like Battlefield, where teamwork is encouraged (and usually necessary) in order to win rather than judging each part of the team separately and therefore making it unlikely that any one person can effectively aid in a team match.

I've noticed I tend to pick the medic class in most games I play.

Lone wolf, because people tend to be unreliable. I'll still support others with my firepower or spells on occasion, but my survival will always come first.

Depends on the game-type. Lone wolf unless it's capture the flag or assault or something, in which case I alternate between long distance fire support and covering/transporting the person with the objective (or running with it myself. Either or)
