I don't pirate too much, I mainly stick to raiding small coastal towns, but if a helpless looking merchant vessel comes along, I'll go for it.

I pirate whenever a game has DRM or when the game/anime in question is unavailable in America. It's kinda annoying that official anime releases are usually 3 years backwards in the West.

I recently downloaded The Avalanches' album "Since I Left You". I don't usually pirate, but I did it this time because I lost the CD and I wanted something to listen to on holiday. I felt slightly justified, however, as a precaution, I wore my Pirate hat, and eye patch so if I was caught I could plead religious discrimination.

What?

And I download whenever I feel like it.
Like the only place to get it is now online and you don't want to bother with point systems and banking.

I don't pirate because it's too risky (or at least assume) and it's wrong.
And besides, if I did I wouldn't tell you.

Risky? The chance of being caught is nearly impossiable. Piraters are a hive mind. Only the crackers (CD) themselves could get caught and they would first have to be hunted down, and all other crackers.

Whenever I damn well feel like it I don't consider it to be exactly wrong, so...if I have to. For some people, it's often their only way to get stuff.

To date, I've pirated one game, and that was because the publishers didn't make the game anymore while also holding onto the rights for it (keeping it from becoming freeware).

Otherwise I buy all my games.

Games - very, very rarely. Basically only when it's to do some multiplayer on the local network with some friends. I'll own my own copy and pirate around for the spares. $60 per person in a local multiplayer is retarded.

Movies & TV Shows - often. Don't have a TV anymore so most of my entertainment in that regard comes in via the internet, and I'm in Canada which means 99% of the "Oh just watch our program online" services don't work for me. If there was a stream normal TV channels of your choice over the internet option I would be all over that shit.

Music - eh, moderate. For more recent stuff it's sort of a try-before-you-buy sort of thing. Oh wow, these 3 Justice songs are really cool, think I'll go buy the album. For older, more esoteric stuff.. fuck it. It'd be a pain in the ass to track 'em down, so I don't even bother.

Lets say, hypothetically, that I pirate. I would mostly then pirate music. Pirating games is only if the game is out of reach in any store.

I buy when I can. When I can't, I download and then buy it if/when I can. I try hard as I can to stay legal, though.

I pirate very occasionally or if I can nag my brother into giving me something he has already pirated (he pirates a lot), which usually fails.

And I won't pirate a game that has multiplayer/good multiplayer/lots of DLC/Leaderboards.

Thus I will not be pirating Batman: AA as I want to see the leaderboards. That seems like a very bad reason not to get something for free, doesn't it? Oh well.

It's generally new games that I pirate although I did pirate Starcraft because I lost my CD Key... Still have a disc.

And just because I need to not feel like a bad person now, I will share the fact that I can count on one hand the number of times I have pirated a game. (In base 10, Binary is cheating! 1023 on one hand. >.<)

Actually come to think of it, it was one of the 4 CDs for Baldur's Gate 2 because the one I have is scratched up horribly, and Prototype.

That's it. Really. Although I did get 2 or 3 games from my brother...

nah, I don't think I'd pirate a game ever. 1, I don't think I'd let myself break the law, and 2, I don't know how to pirate a game, or where :p

Only when I'm in Somalia.

Actually, I don't pirate. I used to pirate songs but now I just use my friends

...because that is way better.

How is it different from sharing a CD or Ipod? Or buying a cd or ipod from your friend?

I pirate, don't see me as a bad person for it. Hell, I do charity work for multiple charaties, I'm a first aider, I help those who need it.

I'm kinda picky when it comes to pirating. I will buy a game if I find it on Amazon at a decent price or if its by a good developer.

I pirate a game when there is WAY too many DRM restrictions, I dislike the developers (ValuSoft, ect), if they sue people for piracy or if they try sell way too much downloadable content.

With games from Developers like DICE, I'd happily buy their games, I love their series.

I'm half and half about it really. I'm studing games programming so in a couple of years, you might be downloading games I've created xD
