I've been noticing that more and more people are not bothering to let people pass the on the street and it's starting to bug me my example follows, skip to the end if you must.

I was walking from my home in to the town for something and on the way someone was walking the opposite way,
So being the polite type I move over to one side, now this pat is a good three maybe four people wide shoulder to shoulder, so I step all the way to my right giving him plenty of room.
Of course he takes this opportunity to not move at all to allow me to pass, in fact he moves closer to me, in order to dodge I have to raise my are over the wall I'm standing next to and STILL he bumps my shoulder.

Later I'm walking down a path and a group of three are walking side by side the path is just wide enough for three so once again I stand as far to one side as is possible and again they make NO effort to stand aside and once again I'm walking sideways pressed up against a wall to avoid them.

On the way back yet again People in my way,
four people spread out on a path barely wide enough for them.
I SHIT YOU NOT, FOUR! FOUR! now your just taking the piss!.
So I step to one side giving as much room as possible aaaand...
Nothing they don't even try, I have to step into the main road to let these selfish bastards pass!
The most annoying thing is they were each about a foot/ foot and a half shorter than me if I had wanted I could have stood in the middle of the path, sped up and fucking flattened them!

Does nobody have any common sense?

And before you say "it was just one day" I see/experience this kind of shit all the time though admittedly this day was worse than normal.

IF YOU SKIPPED STOP HERE!

So do you stand aside?
if not why not?

And for the record the next time a group of four are walking side by side without letting me pass I'm gonna charge them, full run, shoulder forward, flat-on-their-arse-tackle charge them.

This is one of those instances where you purposely instigate the awkward dance with them, just to piss them off.

Ugh, I hate the Dance. Especially when they SEE me walking to avoid them and they go in the same direction. Whatya blind?! Did you not see me get out of your way?! I swear people don't even know how to walk anymore.

Bitterness aside, I still walk out of the way. Chances are, both parties have stuff to do and we don't need to lose time moving like Fiddler Crabs mating.

I'm polite usually. But in extreme circumstances, walking straight through the middle is required.

Warning, this can cause fights if the people you walk through are of lesser intelligence, dressed in burberry, have their tracksuits tucked into their socks and are wearing white trainers.

Its the same as driving. Nobody knows how to walk or drive nowadays. How the fuck did everyone forget?! Who mind wiped humanity?

I try to walk on the opposite side from them, but sometimes it's hard to figure out which side that is.

Ugh, I hate people like that.
And there are some people in my town who will do that to me on purpose, targeting me for my past.
In which they bullied me anyway.
So I just walk in a straight line while at the side, and knock past them.
Fething scumbags.
I know not all of the people who do that are scumbags, but where I live, most of them are.

I move to the left side of the path since that is the general rule I was taught as a kid when walking down by the river with my parents.

I hate when people don't move out of the way and make it a mission to bump into your shoulder when there is enough room just to pass.

I live in a smallish town, if I'm walking usually I can see other people coming from a distance and when they are closer, I'll move to the side and cause my town still has values left in it, they'll move over to.

In high school though, all the time people would hog the halls, not move over and such. On afew occasions I've actually picked up a kid and tosses him to the side cause he wouldn't move. Learned them it did it did, lmao.

Ha!
That's how I move through crowded rooms, funny as hell to look at cause I'm about 6'2 and weigh nearly thirty stone yet I move throgh a crowded room like a high speed gymnast!
I'm suprised anyone else does it.

The only place where this ever happens to me is at school, where these groups are usually made up of 14-year-olds. Being in 6[sup]th[/sup] form, they tend to get out of my way fairly quickly :D

You said it. I'm almost getting run over by people driving in lanes they shouldn't even be driving in. Was "Give a Shmuck a License" Day approved while I was off somewhere? Seriously, people should be routinely tested on their driving ability (and not just when they lose their licence, I mean every three years or something) and highschoolers should be learning earliar (In Australia at least, I have no idea how it works in the US or the UK)

It's awesome when me and my friend do this at the same time.
he goes to the left, I go right and watch people's faces while they walk through our arc of awesome.

You should try it out.

The reason you have to step out of the way is that you step out of the way.
People like to feel important. They like to feel big and menacing.
And you oblige them.
I tendto walk straight through. Mostly because I can get away with it (Big, looking slightly dimm, and quite a good runner if the situation arises), and because I'm a bit of an asshole.
