My teeth were perfect, even the wisdom teeth until after I had my stroke. The meds they had me on caused my gums to dry out and my teeth to begin dying on the inside, so I'm having to have them all removed. About three months ago I was hurting so much from one I went into the bathroom, got a towel, put it over the tooth and pulled it myself. Luckily my dad had some liquid Oxycontin from back surgery and gave me a few doses.
The dentist asked me how I could stand doing it without being numb and I said, "I'd rather have a moment of excruciating pain than weeks of nagging and gnawing pain". He then checked it and said I did a great job and got every bit of it out.
