I remember when I was 8 years old I played games because they we're fun, imaginative, they we're (in retrospect) well written and they we're generally pretty challenging. Now lets fast forward a few years to today. Video games are spat out by big name publishers like EA and Activision like they we're Big Mac's at McDonalds! news flash, games that are made quickly and are just cookie cutters of their predecessors are simply garbage. Take the Call of Duty Franchise for example, you've got two pretty huge developers working under one mongo-producer (Acitvision). The two developers both make, on the most basic level, the same exact product: Call of Duty. Infinity Ward (before Activision basicly left them as a shell of there former selves) was the shining beacon of hope in this dull world we live in, their games took up to 4 years to make and were generally better then the cookie cutter, game a year, knock offs produced by Trearch. Hear me out, i'm not bashing Trearch here, I personally a big fan of there last release, Call of Duty: Black Ops. but there games are generally worse then those made by Infinity Ward. Infinity ward reminds me, every time i pop in my Modern Warfare 2 disk, why I originally got into games, it's fun, looks beautiful, it's challenging, it has addicting multiplayer, and makes me feel like a kid again. Let me know how you guys feel about this subject.
