This made my day. I completely agree with you. I normally don't attack random people on sight, unless I'm playing a sandbox game and then it's basically bad news bears for everyone involved. If you don't attack me first, I'll pretty much leave you alone. If you provoke me, however, I will respond with an unequal amount of force that will most likely leave you as a crater in the ground.

I have no problem killing people, children I'm iffy about but can indeed do it.

It's animals I got problems with, usually domesticated ones in the games. I hate just randomly killing a dog or something, don't know why.

Only thing I have trouble is killing characters I care about.

As a general rule, I won't shoot anyone who isn't a direct foe, unless shot at first. Then, you may have just bought your own tickets to hell

However, if you set off my "Evildar" or "Detect Evil", then kiss your life goodbye! Lawful Good doesn't mean Lawful Nice

Anything or anyone who attacks me is a valid target, man, animal, plant, object it doesn't matter.
Even beyond that I'm willing to kill innocence on a whim although I guess I would be more inclined to spare creatures more than people.

I only kill those who are evil, if I play as a evil person I still find it hard to kill innocents.

I don't kill anything that doesn't try - and fail horribly - to kill me first. I generally either sneak past hostiles or knock them unconscious if the game permits. Metal Gear is a good example, no one dies, they all just come down with a sudden case of narcolepsy.

There is the occasional unlucky bastard who falls face first onto a live claymore after being knocked out but that's not my fault.

Once someone starts trying to kill me though, be it a man, woman, child or rabid hamster I have no problem killing them.

I voted "other". As an evil character, I'll willingly kill children and torture innocents. As a good character, I basically try to follow the Geneva convention, or whatever other standard applies, and as such I avoid killing unarmed people and try to kill my enemies painlessly. I love it when a game gives the option of arresting enemy troops instead of killing them.

I'm not a fan of killing animals, but I certainly will do it if they pose a threat, so I guess there's really no line for me.

Anyone who has ever nuked Megaton should have no problem killing kids... at least in games. Now whether or not they can do it up close, that's one thing. Me, I let the character decide.
