Where you game is an essential part of the experience, whether you're sitting in a treehouse or hanging upside down in a nuclear submarine, it changes how you play.
I play in the family room. Even though I have my own TV that I bought from my uncle, my mom insists that I stay in the living room so she can make sure I'm "using the internet safely"
It actually does have some effect on the experience, as I have to adjust games and sound volume
to avoid interrupting as my family watches an inane reality show.

Where do you game? How does it affect you? Give us your story.

My own, personal lair.

If I want to sleep, the bed is there. If the computer is downloading or updating, the bed is there.

If I need some place to eat, the desk is here too.

It's a livingdiningbedrecreationroom!

I wouldn't be able to stand playing in any room without privacy and boundaries. It's nice to be able to play without bothering others, or getting interupted every so often.

In my bedroom, I need to be about a foot away from the screen in order to play at maximum effectiveness.

Systems setup in both my room and the living room.

Who really wants to spend two minutes disconnecting and reconnecting a console? Not I.

Bedroom on a 36 inch SD TV. And yes, everything looks great on it (except the words in Mass Effect 2. Those bastards gave me the first and only reason to move to HD.). The TV is really bulky and since I've moved 4 times in the last year, can be annoying.

I chose the bedroom, but I was really hoping that someone in this poll would choose bathroom just for laughs.

Please someone choose bathroom :)

I play my PSP in there occasionally, and right now I'm in the laundry room. Does that count?

My bedroom. I play Xbox on the sofa, using my surround sound and big ass TV. It's comfortable, but I like gaming on my PC more, because from the PC I have access to everything. I used to play games on my Dad's PC downstairs, which was shit because I'd play Guild Wars and have some guy from Netherlands saying "1, 2, 3. SPIKE!" all the time, and I'd be constantly asked "who is that?".

I game in my bedroom, because the space in my livingroom is eaten by a coffee table and a piano, and my "back room" houses my drum kit.

It totally sucks though, 'cus when you got a PC spewing out 50-90 celcius an average of sixteen hours a day (including not turning it off at night), it gets awful hot in the summer...

Oh, and to the "man cave" above, yes, I used to have that kind of setup as well, exept my screen was 25.5 16:10. Man up :D

Bedroom for my laptop, but my desktop and consoles are in the living room. Doesn't really matter much really.

I play my 360 in my living room. It's my own place, so there's no need to hide the thing away in the bedroom anymore.

Wait, that didn't really sound right...:p

Seriously... dudes... 25.5 16:10 1920x1200 with Surround and Windows Media Center, on a swivel so I can turn it from facing my chair, to facing my bed.
Sometimes I stay up a couple hours past bedtime...
