I know that we've had a lot of Poll option thingy's lately, like who would win in a fight and such, but now I was wondering which place would you rather not be trapped in. You don't necessarily have to be the protagonist, just your adverage joe. In all the places in the world, which one would you best steer clear of?

Wherever condemned was set, either the department store or the underground train rails.

Genuinely scary game, rather than "Oh know it was silent then you jumped out"

No silent hill!
Damnit! I was sitting there thinking to myself places of horror or evil and just plain shit to get caught up in... but my mind was circling around Half Life (you can see) I knew I missed out on some. Sorry if you'd rather rather not be traped in some place.

EDIT

I think I added Silent Hill in. Not sure.

Anyway. I decided I would not like to be in Rapture. I'd be the guy hiding in the corner, alone, in the dark, rocking back and forth, hopeing and praying that the mutant pyschotics out there would not find me and torture me in the worst imaginable ways. I chose this also, because of the fact that there is no escape. A sub perhaps? But they're all controled by the man in charge and the only way to run rapture is to kill him. There is no way in hell I'll be able to kill him or even a splicer. I would be to scared to shoot a splicer because of the noise it would make. So back into the corner I go, hiding and crying becasue my wife and kids have alreday been butchered and raped.

I voted for the island in farcry. I don't know why, maybe because I know i wont be able to survive being hunted down by bloodthirsty mercs.

I have to say that Ravenholm would be bad, though. No Half-Life game has really yet shown what it'd be like if you were zombified by a head crab and forced to try to kill Gordon Freeman.

None of these are going to make a list of my top vacation spots anytime soon, but I would least like to be stuck in Silent Hill. Aside from the mind bending effects of reality shifting back and forth between the normal world, and a dark, twisted hell the things that dwell there are a lot more horrible than the other choices. Headcrabs, zombies, splicers, crazy people intent on caving in your skull with a piece of rebar, mercenaries, and mutants just don't hold a candle to Pyramid Head.

I would say Rapture, but then again, you cant die there.
If you're an average Joe you can. The vita chambers work for the protagonist of Bioshock for a specific reason that doesn't apply to others.

I've never needed to use the Vita-Chambers, but then why do all the Splicers keep dying? Maybe you have some special ablity to get resirected all the time. For adverage JoeBlow... nup. If you're dead, you're dead.

I'd rather not be in Silent Hill, for the sole reason that if I was stuck there, I'd be defenceless. Rapture had guns laying around for people (and splicers) to use, City 17 and Black Mesa have guns as well as small resistance groups (the resistance and the security guards in that order), Ravenholm has those neat traps you can use, lots of sharp things to throw as well as Father Grigori to watch out for you. In a condemned city, you'd be able to nick a car and run over the beasties, and on the Farcry island, you could always 'borrow' a discarded weapon from some unlucky sod.

But, in Silent Hill, all you get is fragile blades, bricks and pipes to fend off shambling grotesque monsters.

How about the mall in Dead Rising?

I think I might also give a vote to Pac Man's maze... Use your imagination and think about what that place would be like if it were a real life situation.

I thought more people would have chosen City 17. The no sex would of put people off that for a holliday destination.

Not true. The suppression field simply prevents fertilisation. From a socialogical standpoint, that would most likely lead to an increase in sexual activity.

I'd say none of those places. The true nightmare would be forced to choose one of those places you'd want to be trapped in forever while someone is pointing a gun at your head.

Iraq. Because the actual America's Army doesn't have save-points and respawns...
You're to asume none of these have them either. (Slaps you over the head). At least Iraq doesn't have zombies, ghosts, mutants, people clubbing you over the head and oppressing your people, evil robots, dark places, rapists (that triangle head guy in silent hill, I take him to be one?!), etc, etc.
