Poll: Which Combat Role Do You Play

I hate the word "sniper" and don't generally like the one trick pony rifles that are called "sniper rifles". I do, however like to be at a safe distance behind something hard when I shoot someone. Make of that what you will.

My approach to battle is much like my approach to sex. Get in there, flail around desperately until you find your rhythm, and hope you don't do too much damage to allied forces.

I'll be in the thick of the action, but my main focus is providing info for my teammates and ensuring the team wins the fight, even if my own kill count remains low. In base capturing games, I'm more likely to defend a base than attack the next one.

I think I'm a pretty good player in all situations in games, not just gun games. I'm a good melee or front lines person, i can do assassinations or sniping in most games pretty well, and i enjoy playing the healer or medic and keeping the team alive because no one else wants to play the class with the gun that Anti-kills people yet someone has too.

I take the biggest, loudest gun I can find (with a mag larger than 75) and fill the enemy and all the surrounding walls with lead.

I'm very uncomplicated in shooters, if I see it, I unload an entire belt of ammo at it, and anyone else that's stupid enough to pop out in the other 170 degrees of my vision. Very often, I don't let go of the trigger, I just paint a line of bullet holes to my next target!

I think people would call me a tank!

recon, i usually slip in unnoticed in the hype, killing all i can without blowing my cover, then give the team inside info and help plan an assault ... or assassinate that mofo on the light machinegun so my guys can pass ... and my favorite .. sabotageing enemy cars/tanks/guns

In most games I'm a normal soldier, but I'll play recon and support a lot in some games.

It depends on the situation. I have a very tactical mind so when I play something like Halo or Gears of War, where I can effectively choose in the middle of batle how I'll fight, I'll analyse where Ican be most effective by seeing how my enemies and allies are fighting. For example, if there's a CTF game in which my allies are getting pwned by the enemies defence, I'll provide cover as a sniper or in an aircraft (I'm pretty good at dogfighting generally). In something like TF2 though, I'll usually choose sniper or spy. Anything stealthy, really.

As much as I feel like a pack rat following the flow with all those sniper wannabe's from my experience sneaking in and now of places (not the illegal kind of sneaking I play manhunt -not the video game, it's kind of like hide and seek except not for 5 year old's- every now and then) I might actually be a decent recon. Though the sniping, my hand isn't steady enough and I've never even used a gun.

EDIT: Now that I've read other posts this seems like this topic may have more for video games. In that case, yes even more to sniper/recon. I always play thief/other stealth class in RPGs and always use the sniper rifle in shooters.

In TF2, I mostly play as either the Pyro or Medic. In BF2, it's either the Assault or Medic class.

I'm a Soldier because I lack the patience to be a sniper and hate how slow Heavy weapons are and I hate being healer cause it's to boring :].

I generally use the grunt weapons if I have to, but will always go for the knife kill if given an opportunity. I guess that would make me a mix between soldier and ninja.

I'm a mixed breed.
If I want to kill stuff, I'll be a sniper.
If I want to assist, I'll gladly be the medic or engineer.
It's about 50/50.
