Soldier. Never liked the other classes. Whenever I play as anything else, it just pisses me off that I can't effectively use all my weapons. Just sticking to a pistol or a rifle throughout the whole game makes the action too repetitive, even with the added abilities.

Soldier first, my main (James Shepard)

Vanguard second (Philip Shepard)

Sentinel Third (Sophia Shepard)

All are full playthroughs through ME1 & ME2.

I can't believe how many people are choosing Soldier. Talk about a lack of imagination. I guess Bioware's data was accurate.

IMO, Adept or Infiltrator all the way.

Vanguard. I love charging into a group and decimating them with a few shotgun blasts.

My main character has been a soldier through both games, so no point in stopping now. Besides, I prefer guns to fancy powers or tech any day.

In order:
Soldier
Vanguard
Infiltrator
Adept
Engineer
Sentinel

Soldier was my first playthrough wherein all the characters lived on the suicide mission.

My first ME profile is a soldeir so I'm gonna play ME3 as a soldier first. I always play my RPG's with a warrior class first. Dunno why.

Adept, since that was my last and most challeging insanity playthrough. As a Renegade Male Shepard ofc ;-)

If biotic charge stays in, then I will be the Manliest of Manguards (imported FemShep Manguard).

Otherwise, I'll just turn on Garrus-Mode and pick Infiltrator.

I played through ME with both a soldier and an infiltrator, and have played through ME 2 as both a soldier and an engineer. My favourite class is Infiltrator, but engineer is pretty cool, especially with the firepower pack that makes taking on heavy foes possible.

Soldier, because my first Shep is that, and then vanguard because I have 2 of those. I used to have a ginger infiltrator, but I thought the techs were a bit weird, so I switched to biotics and realized that throwing people, lifting them off the ground, and shoving their faces with shotgun shells was way more fun than overheating an enemy's weapon. No offense to any techy Sheps.

I don't know why people bother with inferior classes. Clearly the Vanguard is peerless. I specialized into Shock Trooper in ME1, and was disappointed in the lack of Barrier in ME2. I picked up Barrier via research (and for free on my second play through), and it made the class even better.
A Vanguard with Geth Shield Boost, Barrier, or Fortification is near unstoppable. It just turns you into a highly mobile tank with a shotgun.

1st. Soldier
2nd. Infiltrator
3rd. Vanguard
4th. Adept
5th. Sentinal
6th. Engineer

Surprising how many people will go Soldier, I'm not surprised that Infiltrator or Vanguard are high up though.

Well...what do you mean?
Shepard IS a Vanguard. There's no choice, he just is. Unless there's alternate universes and a Shepard of a different class for each. But that's crazy. The REAL shepard is a Vanguard.
Could you elaborate on this - why do you think this? Do you have sources to back up your claim?

I don't know. I played Adept in ME2, but that just played like Gears of War with force powers. And no thats not as fun as it sounds.

May try the one where you can charge into enemies. That looks kind of fun.

Depends how ME3 will play I guess.
