Metallica sucks. Actually all of these bands suck. But if pressed I'd pick Slayer because they were on Viva la Bam.

Aside: Metallica isn't even thrash metal, it's whiny college rock that no one with any taste in music and/or self-respect actually listens to. Metallica = suck. Metallica gets about as much props from me as The Cranberries or Creed. Fuck Metallica. I plan on napalming an entire Metallica concert from a bi-plane that's flying a giant "Fuck Metallica" banner behind it while wearing a t-shirt that says "Fuck Metallica" on the front and "Eat Napalm" on the back and videoing all of it and putting that video on YouTube under the title "Fuck Metallica Plane lolnapalms Metallica & Friends".

Metallica are one of the big 4 originating thrash bands. You can't deny that. They may have changed their style later, but they started out as thrash. Just listen to Kill 'em All and you'll see what I mean.

Anyway, I'd say Slayer, because Megadeth was more heavy metal, and I don't like Anthrax.

I think they are a highy acclaimed band that deserves all the respect it gets. And if you look on Wikipedia. They are listed as the 'Big 4' in thrash metal.

They're no where near the best.

I like metal, but the best metal band out there is manowar. It wasnt on the list, thats total bull.

Just to put this out there, the only albums that are thrash metal in metallica are the first four. After that, it all goes to hell.

I'd have to say I'm tied between Metallica and Megadeth. Both of them just leave with my mouth open everything I listen to them.

Slayer and Antrax are still good but their music structure isn't as good as Metallica's and Megadeth's. (i.e. Random solo out of no where)

I completely agree with you about Metallica, their goodness ended after ...And Justice For All. As to your comment on Slayer/Anthrax, the random solos and haphazard song construction is what makes them awesome and exhilarating to listen to.

Anyways, I voted for Slayer with the tiniest of margins over Metallica, which had a slightly larger margin over Megadeth.
