None really. The only good space marine is the one from Halo 2 who was voiced by David Cross. But that's not saying much...Since Halo is mediocrity incarnate.

Starcraft, because those Marines aren't insanely overpowered like in 40K, heh.
The Space Marines are not overpowered. Warhammer 40K in its entirety is overpowered, but for the setting, space marines are not overpowered.

40k was the birth of the space marine, and they are also the best (screw you master chief). their ordinary gun use bullets the size of your middle finger (.75 cal). and 100 of them can desolate a planet on a day.
And it just so happens those .75 cal rounds are explosives with a mechanically set timer, and when it goes off they EXPLODE. And they're fired in two round bursts. Or from heavy bolters they're fired at at least 800 rounds a minute.
Yeah, they basicly use small rockets as standard ammunition. Fun fact: we actually have guns with rocket munition as well, it's called the Gyrojet [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gyrojet]:
"The Gyrojet is a family of unique firearms developed in the 1960s named for the method of gyroscopically stabilizing its projectiles. Firing small rockets rather than inert bullets, they had little recoil and didn't require a heavy barrel to resist the pressure of the combustion gases. Velocity on leaving the tube was very low, but increased to around 1,250 feet per second (380 m/s) at 30 feet (9.1 m). The result was a very lightweight weapon with excellent ballistics."

They even made rifles, pistols and carbines. The also mention bolters in the article, yay!

so? thats the meaning with space marines. the ones in 40k WAS THE BIRTH OF THE SPACE MARINE. all those wannabes nowadays just think its better to be weak than strong. and compared to a pair of other races in 40k, the necrons and the tyranids, they are NOT OP.

The warhammer 40k space marines are actually what space marines are suppose to be, all the other versions they're just normal people with abit of flashy armour.

I'd have to say the new Terran Marines (Starcraft) due to sheer mechanical joy (that's of course from the SC 2 terran trailer). But if we're talking about the first starcraft, then I'm going with the Black Templars Chapter.
you sir, deserves a cookie for that.
woot! I'm guessing for the Black Templars. I like the BTs. I have a poster with one slaying a Chaos marine right above my desk :)
he deserved the cookie coz he had balls enuff to vote for some1 else than 40k marines.

Sorry to dissapoint you, but Starship Troopers was first. Ofcourse the book, not the movie. The book was published in 1959, fár for Warhammer 40k came out, wich came out in 1987. Still I prefer W40k's space marines over the Starship Trooper one's any day of the week. The Starship Trooper one's are too...robotic, too mechanized, I rather put them in the same catagory a W40k Dreadnaught belongs to.

I'm going to have to go with the 40k Marines even if they are a bunch of stuck up, pompous, self righteous, technologically regressed fools.

That is what makes them awesome.

(Although Tyranid own all, but thats not relevant and should not be quoted)

Ok then, my own personal opinion isn't valid apparently. Yeah, great thinking there.

I'm going to actually risk getting flak for this and say that I actually don't like the 40k space marines that much. They kind of irritate me, what with their perfection and eighty hearts and lungs or what have you. Plus, religious zealots :p It feels like when you have these supersoldiers that are literally inhuman and can fight forever, it's too over the top and just... boring.

I like the Imperial Guard / Halo / StarCraft (hell, original Starship Troopers) style Space Marines much, much more. Where they're pretty much just average joes like you and me, only they're fighting. In space. With guns.

Of those, I guess I like the Terrans best. If only because they're rednecks in space, and that makes me laugh. "Hey, Sarge, looks like you hit some poor fellers' dog." "Nah, Lester, that ain't a dog. That's a Zergling."

40K, hands down.
One 40K marine could slaughter hundreds of SC marines without breaking a sweat.
Although I prefer Imperial Guardsmen for their underdog-ness (is that a word?) and great variety of heritage.

1 half of that with religion is wrong. why? because the person they workship is ALIVE.
