Excuse me what?ChupathingyX said:Errrr...Obsidian.
I've never played a Square Enix RPG or a Bioware RPG.
And Bethesda "RPGs" barely have any choice in them, at least the last two really dropped the ball, and I'm still on the fence about Skyrim.
Yeah, those guys. Two big differences between Obsidian and Bethesada are that A) Obsidian are much better writers, and B) Bethesada (for no apparent reason) gets a pass from people on bad gameplay and buggy games, Obsidian does not.sergnb said:Also, Obsidian? Really? The guys that did Alpha Protocol, and the incredibly buggy New Vegas?
Alpha protocol's dialogue system may be awesome but that doesn't make them "better writers". I do agree Bethesda's dialogues tend to be pretty cheesy, tho.Kahunaburger said:Yeah, those guys. Let's put it this way: the bar for "better writers" then Behtesada is very low. Regardless of what you think about Obsidian writing, we can all agree that it's somewhere above that bar.sergnb said:Alpha protocol's dialogue system may be awesome but that doesn't make them "better writers". Bethesda "gets away" with buggy games because they balance it with insanely high amounts of content and huge worlds to explore.
And since when didn't Obsidian get away with a buggy game too? As far as I know New Vegas has been receiving a shitload of good reviews and everybody seems to love it (including myself).
But then you have Alpha protocol's unplayability...
If you've heard a lot of complains about New Vegas it's because a shitload of new players got introduced to open RPG's like that with this game and got VERY mad when the game deleted their save files with a bug and whatnot. The first days, the game was unplayable. Also, for your information, a lot of people thought New Vegas was made by Bethesda at first when they only published it, so it is not really a bias towards bethesda, it's a matter of which's game first few weeks were worse bug-wise.Kahunaburger said:Let's put it this way: the bar for "better writers" then Behtesada is very low. Yeah, Bethesada does have good elements in their games, mainly related to exploration. But it never fails to crack me up when people rage at New Vegas one minute for being buggy and turn around and praise Oblivion or FO:3 the next.
